You've probably read about it already, and I'm curious to know what people think about this re-re-re-release of Evangelion on DVD. Do you want it? Do you think it's stupid? Do you feel it's unnecessary?

I find the price too high, these guys must be searching for fat money :P
I can't find it stupid by any means, well it's not unessesary for some collection freaks. It could be some ultimate eva source for those who don't posses it......but still, eva platinum thinpack along with D&R + EoE two pack come into half the 10th an.edition price, so i keep this out.

Well as you said EM it's a re-re-re-release of Eva, so probably unecessary.. But i wanna buy it!

Fucking hell, already? How long has Eva Platinum been out again? Thank God it won't be seeing a PAL release thus I won't have an opportunity to act like the consumer whore I am.

Well seeing as I'm in the UK I won't be able to get it without importing, so I've already pre ordered it from Amazon for importing. It was about £109 ($202) altogether from there for me so I am saving quite a lot from the recomended price.

I dont think the set is unnecessary as it'll most likely be a good collectors item, I do think it's a bit bad of them to release it now after just releasing the thinpack set last year.

Am I going to buy it anyway? Yes, I am stupid like that. (Plus I do have the money to spend on it. The only thing that would stop me from buying it is if that moronic Karowu saying is what they put on the jacket.)

I wouldn't be surprised if ADV understands that they can slap "Evangelion" on a box and charge $100+ and we're too stupid not to buy it.

In fact, ADV Films are milking the same Evangelion cow so much, that the milk is starting to get bloody.

We don't need another version of Evangelion so shortly after the Platinum versions were already released.

As I just mentioned over in the news post thread, this is pretty ridiculous. Basically, ADV is just putting the same video extras from the Platinum set on the 10th Anniversiary set.

I remember hearing a taped conforence with Mat on youtube.com or some where else that said that the PLatinum edition would be the last edition produced.

I recall asking him at Otakon in an ADV panel about it, and he said that the Platinum release would be the last one until the next video format came out.

I rewatched the Tekkoshocon panel, and was dissapointed to hear that Greenfield was referring to "physical extras" that he couldn't annonce. I was hoping he was referring to video extras. Drat.
