The first movie was great, maybe this one will be closer to the book. Either way I love Stephen King movies.

Huh, I still need to read the book, it's on my bookshelf, beckoning me...

You could kill someone with a hardback copy of that book. Still wondering when The Dark Tower books will make the big screen though.

Won't be the same if Tim Curry's not reprising his role. If the new film's worse than the mini-series... grab some popcorn 'cause here's another stupid film to waste time on! Boy, do I love to make fun of bad films...

Wikipedia says that the filming of the series will start in 2013. Something worth noting is that they plan to make interquel television shows that take place between the movies that they make. So presumably, they'll be around 4 movies and 3 shows, or something to that effect.

Was the miniseries really bad? I mean, sure, it was cheesy, but I don't think it was bad.

^I liked it. Here's hoping this movie's actually good.

Having not seen it, I'm going to infer that Tim Curry's performance outshone all the others' to the point of making their perfomances look cheesy by comparison.

If it was basically the same thin as the HBO miniseries with the Turtle and macroverse stuff thrown in, I'd be happy enough. Maybe some more historic examples of It's activity as well.

The only memorable part about the 1990 version was Tim Curry; other than that, it was bland, cheesy, and in some ways just off. It's an iconic film, to say the least, but I think there's plenty of room to improve upon, which I'd like to see in a remake. I mean, I'm sure it can't be worse, right? And if it is, the reputation (lol) of the original won't be ruined.

So like the book this will end with 6 prepubescent boys gang banging their one female friend in a grimy cave somewhere in the sewer?

Joking aside, the director is aces so there's potential here. I'm certain though they're working on coming up with a new way to defeat IT than pre-teen orgies & fucking stepping on it. IT is a solid King novel, but like most King novel's he drops the ball hard on the ending.

PS. As of the moment there is nothing going on with THE DARK TOWER. Thank Glob too since it was going to be directed by Ron Goddamn Howard. The WORST possible director for such an exquisite series of books.
