Your Favorite Movie Poster
Sometimes advertizing can have a profound amount of artistic merit. Here is the place to post those movie posters that strike you as being so wholly original, hard-hitting, and unique as to leave an indelible impression in your mind's eye; an image that summarises the core meaning of the film to you personally. Explanation as to why that poster is ART to you is also most welcome. The posters can be official or fan-made, and don't have to be limited to simply one.
Japanese poster for Steve McQueen's Shame (2011).
Shame is a movie that is, for lack of a more encompassing term, existential. It's a film about the agonizing relationship between a sex-addicted brother and his emotionally starved sister whose lives are thrust together due to unexpected circumstances. It's a clashing of hearts weathered by life. The poster perfectly shows the thin veneer constantly present between the two siblings, always on the brink of being torn apart in a final show of rage, frustration, and exposure. I can't read the tagline, but I can feel the pain.

I liked this poster for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. It took me a while to realize what I was looking at.

"Now, from Nature we obtain abundant information about ourselves, and precious little about others. About the woman you clasp in your arms, can you say with certainty that she does not feign pleasure? About the woman you mistreat, are you quite sure that from abuse she does not derive some obscure and lascivious satisfaction? Let us confine ourselves to simple evidence: through thoughtfulness, gentleness, concern for the feelings of others we saddle our own pleasure with restrictions, and make this sacrifice to obtain a doubtful result." -The Divine Marquis

"I have a fetish for naked women with stigmata playing ping pong in the mud. Is there a name for that?" -Kaiser O-Ornette-dono-sama
“Don’t do that; that was probably hooker money.” -SSD on me holding money with my mouth

I can't seem to find a poster for David Cronenberg's Naked Lunch that isn't breathtaking.
While we're on the subject of horrifying Japanese posters, here's one for Eraserhead.
Mulholland Dr. has a few nice ones, too.
Let's wrap this up with a few more baffling Polish posters, featuring one more David Lynch film and some Stanley Kubrick.

Speaking of Polish posters...
Rocky! It's the story of a boxer with a heart of gold and a morbidly oversized thumb.

That Polish Chinatown poster is bat-shit insane. Wow!
I have a predilection for moody and cryptic posters that obscures the object of attention. It's an ingenius form of advertizing, because it makes the passer-by freeze and go "Wait, what the hell is this movie about?" So few mainstream posters do this.

Re: Your Favorite Movie Poster
Really? That's your favorite Alien poster?
Anyway, I loved the comic con poster for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It felt like some sort of Romanticist artwork, with effective use of ash-choked clouds (for once).
