Evangelion Fan Art [ 6/23/2004 - 7/8/2011 ]

Hi guys!
I've recently becomed a fan artist (i made my avatar ), and i'm working in some images of the Evangelion units without the armour, and other images that are shown a very few times in the Show.
And i was wondering where i can find scanned images from the manga showing the eva without the armour, because in the place i live it doesn't arrive, and i have no money to buy it :cry:.

I hope this request doesn't give any troubles! (i don't want to be banned!!!) :?

It looks pretty good. I'd like to see a higher quality version of this, and anything else you've done. If you're looking for inspiration, I would suggest taking a look into Rachel "Reichu" Clark's fan art. Its predominantly Eva fan art without armor.

I have already seen that site, and it gave me a lot of inspiration (and also freaked me out with all those love scenes between evas ).

But just recently i heard that the manga shows a lot of images like this, for example the contact experiment with yui (i would LOVE to see that!!!)

Now I remember you. So, would you like some scans of the pages in the manga where the Evas are without armor? I'm not so strict on providing people with stuff like that, as its for informative puposes.

Wow...that's some nice coloring and detail there...very clean too... :shock: Great work!

If anyone here is interested, I am also a fan artist (you can visit my current gallery at http://chocomanji.deviantart.com , it's in my sig also). I only have one Eva related work currently there right now...and I might do a recoloring of it soon b/c I'm kind of iffy about the final product. :?

It's a drawing pre-episode 19, when he grows the mouth
Before ep 19 the eva-01 didn't have a mouth.

the eva could open the mouth of the armour, but it' hasn't mouth of his own until episode 19, when he grows a mouth and teeth.

In the conept designs and in episode 2 we can't see any mouth:

That's what this place is for You'd be surprised TheMessiah, many people do.
But yeah, that's something I didn't notice either.

Great art by the way, I was wondering where you got the sig pic from. I wish I knew what volumes had a "nakid" Eva in it. I don't have scans myself but I could prbably get some if you want.

I'm still at odds with the whole mouth thing. To me, it may just be an oversight on the part of the production. At first the Eva wasn't supposed to have an actual mouth, and then it did, possibly due to plot conveniance. You have to keep in mind that a lot of things were changed in Eva last minute. What may have been depicted in early production work may have no bearing because of changes during the production process. Ask any member of Gainax about it, they will tell you that working with Anno was a frustrating buisness due to his last minute changes.

Maybe the Eva has a mouth in other episodes, but no teeth.
The eva can regenerate eyes, arms, whatever he needs, and maybe he can change facial aspects like growing a mouth when he goes beserker, or growing teeth when he ate the S2 engine.

I think it all depends on the eva, but the original state of the eva is mouthless.

Wow, Reichu's art is unbelievable. Some are quite scary too :twisted: I'm surprised the Eva's weren't supposed to have mouths, considering Unit 01 opened its mouth as early as the second episode. Dunno how it could have done that without a mouth underneath the bindings :p

In the end, its just a cartoon, and in some aspects, it really doesn't have to make a whole heap of sense.
