I said and did some dumb and hurtful things in my time here when i was younger. If i ever hurt you, i'm sorry. If you see any of this while reading old threads, i'm learning and trying to improve. Donut redemption arc in progress.

If you mean the classic stuff (up to Tom Baker), then yes.

You should give it a go. From what I've heard it's pretty good.

Yes, just don't be bothered if you fail to keep up with the companion storylines, they can drive you insane if you let them.

Never saw it, needed to watch something I never watched before. I'll find a way to see it.

It annoys me that the local TV outfits haven't thought of bringing this series here in my country, what with people elsewhere singing praises for it.

If they can't, there's more than one way to skin a cat, you know...

The new series, the 9th Docrtor and up, is pretty fun to watch. I don't know much about the older series, apart from the movie, but I read the Tom Baker stuff is good.

I'd recommend watching a few of the classic series and then watching the new series, starting in 2005. Basically the entire Eccleston-Tennant period exists in the same continuity, so you get a lot more out of it by starting then.

My first episode was The Tomb of the Cybermen during the Troughton era. It's a good introduction to how the show started (and Matt Smith has been deliberately drawing from Troughton's Doctor as well). Then find a Pertwee episode and a Baker episode. That's enough to get you through the core of "classic" Who that the current writers are drawing from.

Then (unless you're really taken with it), start in 2005.

Oh, and Tom Baker's autobiography is just a really fun read if you like his personality on the show.

Hi.

All I can say is, do it. You will not be sorry...as a matter of fact, you'll feel much better for it.

Trust me--I've been at it for upwards of 15 years now (since 1996).
