Used to, Fooly Cooly was my favorite show. But now that NGE is within my grasp. It's not that I don't like Fooly Cooly anymore, but NGE is #1 now. So, did this show replace anything for you too?

Several gigabytes of harddrive space with Eva-related nonsense.

Also quite a bit of money with DVDs and manga.
Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?
Is this not what you expected to see?

You'll just have to claw your way through this disguise!

It filled the hobby gap that had prevented me from finally letting go of rolegaming. So to some extent, for me, it replaced D&D and its successors.

Yes as a matter of fact it replaced Video Games for me. I became to obsessed with Evangelion last year that I hadn't played any games for a few months so I unhooked by PS2 and since a year ago it's been sitting in my closet not being played. I used to play games like Final Fantasy and Xenosaga because I loved the deep storylines. but Evas storyline is far better in my opinion. plus eva then led me to watch tons of other anime so I spend all my time buying DVDs and shit now. :D

It replaced mah life completly. Mind body and soul.
I don't care for Eva-elitists. I don't know everything, and neither do you.

Gravitation.

For the better, I assume. Atleast people dont have to hear me blabber in fangirl yaoi speak for 7 hours straight.

Eva didn't change anything for me except for the most #1 series that I loved. :D Last year it was GTO. In 2003 that honor went to Ceres, Celestial Legend. Besides that nothing much.

Eva introduced me to anime. Before that, I had spent more time on classic British sci-fi (old Doctor Who, The Prisoner) and Hammer Horror-type films than I do now. So, yes, it did change my intake of media.

But "The Prisoner" is still one of the greatest series of all time. Doctor Who isn't bad either, but without anime I would probably be buying a lot more DW DVDs.

Also quite a bit of money with DVDs and manga.

I feel it too... I had to by the anime twice thanks to the platinum edition.

It replaced Cowboy Bebop and Bubblegum Crisis in my 'anime diet'.

Dragon Ball Z was number one for me... Then Evangelion came and trounced it savagely. I don't even remember how my top 5 goes any more, I really just stopped watching anime for the most part, even Evangelion. I wish I could get started again.

Then again, I got plenty of other things I need to do to pre-occupy my time with. But I will have spent a fortune over my Evangelion obsession within the next couple years.

Same as Shnooks said, Gravitation. But I went from Eva to Gravitation to Eva again, because the first time I watched Evangelion, I was 11, and I didn't understand half the stuff I thought I did. o_O;

It replaced (surpassed) Gundam and Macross as my number one all-time favorite series.

It also got me into going back to Cons which in turn got me into even more anime and even more spending. It also led me to reading manga and surfing the internet for NGE related pics and works.

Evangelion replaced all the good animes I had seen til that time, such as gundam wing, one piece, digimon 1st season and others....it's the best

It also replaced my girlfriend, car, house, pets, family and even replaced some of that good stuff that one guy on the corner told me about.

Now I spend my days wandering the streets, philosophizing, carrying around $150 worth of Evangelion merchandise and screaming at people from my street corner...

"Third impact will be soon on us!!!"

Also...

"We'll all return to the primordial soup!!!"

And finally...

"Hey buddy, you got a quarter?"
"No"
"I hope Unit 01 bites your **************************** head off!!!"

What? Evangelion's good for me.

XD Shnooks and I (and another one of our friends) all wore NERV shirts the day Eva premiered on AdultSwim and told everyone in school "Happy Third Impact Day~!!"

When asked WTF we were talking about, we told them the world was ending.
