Kaworu Expies
I fear that nobody here played The World Ends With You...
(its the best DS game ever made)
But a certain character from it STRONGLY reminds me of Kaworu.
Picture:
While he is not an "angel" in the game, he is in contact with some.
Of course the angels from that game are different from the ones in NGE.
Could Joshua be based of Kaworu?
Oh, he has a jesus beam too.

Well, the picture looks EXACTLY like Kaworu with slightly longer hair...
His expies really ARE everywhere, tough. I even admit having produced one myself. XD He's called William Michaelis, but isn't really that supernatural or angelic - He is an artificial human, but there are five of those in that particular work, four of which are relevant main characters.
Expies of the EVa cast are very prominent, Rei and Shinji copies are also all over the place - then again, the EVA characters were half-based on previously existing stereotypes, so perhaps it's more accurate to say that EVA has influences/tweaked/ impacted those already existing stereotypes so that they post-EVA use will either resemble EVA or remind people of it. EVa sorta changed the rules - it is as widely known in Japan as Star wars/Star Trek in the US or Doctor Who in Britain, as far as I know.

Kaworu's personality also strikes me as similar to Joshua's. Both are quite laid-back and speak in calm, soothing voices. They both also serve to mentally support their respective series main characters (Well, Shinji more so than Neku, but still...), so I would say Kaworu is similar to Joshua.
Ritsuko: It can't be...an Angel devoured an Eva? That's impossible!
Maya: That's strange. The target's identification signal is turning into Zerogouki's!
~Once again proving...you are what you eat.~
(After adding something sexual to a perfectly normal post) "Fixed." --Apparently everybody on this forum.
It is unnerving to be proven wrong, particularly when you are really right and the person who is really wrong is the one who is proving you wrong and proving himself, wrongly, right. Right?

Behold, my friend, the art of the Expy. Evangelion has spawned legions of them. (TV Tropes is fun!!)
On a semi-unrelated note, am I the only human being on the planet who hated The World Ends With You?

That guy in Mai-Hime. If you've seen Mai-Hime, you know the one. They wanted him to be Kaworu so bad, they got Akira Ishida to do the voice.
EDIT: Ah, here he is. I'm surprised I managed to forget his name, considering they went for something as obvious as Nagi Homura. (...Get it?)

I wonder how many times Ishida-san has contemplated suicide for having one of the most type-cast careers in international acting history.

Can a white-haired bishounen list that's missing Kaworu Nagisa be trusted?
