Because I couldn't find another thread like this in the forums.

Post whatever non-interactive visual media you're watching at the moment. Just make sure it isn't a movie in theaters. That would be rude, after all.

Mod Edit 6.10.2013

Because this topic has been confusing people for years partly due to this rather imprecise OP post I need to stress this is topic for things you can view that are not:

- Films
- Anime

For anime viewing we have own subforum and for films we have the series of "Last Movie you've watched" topics, latest of which is in November 2013 this. These leave for this topic live action drama such as Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones, non-japanese animation, talk shows etc.

> non-interactive visual media

Movie, Anime, Videogames, youtube video all have their thread already. What else is not covered? Visual novels? Electronic books? Non-youtube vids? Internet websites like news or social networking? TV shows?

TV shows. "Non-interactive visual media" is ExpoSpeak for TV show, and DVDs, and anything else you'd expect to find on a thread like this.

For instance, a topical post for this thread would be . . .

Stayed up late watching the season finale of The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network. I missed the first 15 minutes because I was playing Battlefield with my bro and didn't look at the time, but the 45 minutes I did see was incredibly cool. They really blew out the budget on the animation budget for that show, and more then that they actually know how to use it.

I see. Tonight I watched a TV program going through the history of Kamen Rider (I am not a fan but exactly because of that I want to gain some knowledge about it. Only now did I realize there was a purely American production named Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight) and another TV program that discussed the Ghent Alterpiece completed by Jan van Eyck in 1432 and why it was such a breakthrough for late medieval paintings in terms of its painting techniques and innovation of oil paints and its use (e.g. glaze). Both are Japanese TV programs BTW.

I watched Fringe last night. It's one of my favorite shows.

I just finished Freaks & Geeks last week. I'm wondering if anyone else on here ever watched it. I liked it but was not surprisingly underwhelmed by the ending, considering that it was made like there was supposed to be a second season.

I saw maybe one or two episode. From what I remember it seemed like a pretty good show.

Just finished season 1 of The Wire, and I'll be starting season 2 next week. I'm looking forward to it. Season 1 had just about the best 3 or 4 final eps. of any TV show season I've ever seen.

It's definitely worth a shot. It's one of the few portrayals of high school life that doesn't seem like a caricature.

I watched the motion comic for Watchmen. I think it's better than the movie >_>

And although this is blasphemous to say, I'd rather watch the motion comic than read the comic book series <_<

I started watching Twin Peaks again, but we already have a specific thread for that. I've only watched the pilot episode, so far, with my little brother.
"Now, from Nature we obtain abundant information about ourselves, and precious little about others. About the woman you clasp in your arms, can you say with certainty that she does not feign pleasure? About the woman you mistreat, are you quite sure that from abuse she does not derive some obscure and lascivious satisfaction? Let us confine ourselves to simple evidence: through thoughtfulness, gentleness, concern for the feelings of others we saddle our own pleasure with restrictions, and make this sacrifice to obtain a doubtful result." -The Divine Marquis

"I agree Hans, but we have talked about those anal fisting analogies." -Werner Herzog

I'm gonna start watching the original version of The Killing along side with the AMC remake. Can't wait to dissect the differences.

It seems as though the American version of The Killing is trying to be the new Twin Peaks, while the Danish version is simply giving nods to Twin Peaks. I gotta admit though, the remake has a better atmosphere and look.

Sort of half-watching the 1964 movie 7 Faces of Dr. Lao and surfing the internet. Is Tony Randall's portrayal of a Chinese mystic really racist or am I just not paying enough attention?
