He should be happy he hasn't got to the "taking apart the goddamn gun and cleaning it repeat repeat repeat" phase yet. -___-'

I heard in some cases, something may be added before the cleaning part, like throw it into that mud pool kind of thing. I am not sure if there is any truth in it, but if it true, then it would be really worth this FML thread....

Well training from kill bill and bourne supremecys gotta be better then training from starwars. You don't wanna be the next starwars kid. The ex mafia hitman I used to work with on my construction job said he learned how to get away with killing people by watching tv. He said that's how he knew to burn all his clothes and dissasemble his gun and chuck the parts in different areas of lake michigan. So if you watch more movies, maybe you too can become a mafia hitman like him. Until you get disgruntled and leave organized crime and end up working for this idiot who wrecks my house everytime my step dad hires him to do work.

Lol, at first I was like "damn I know EGF too well I can't believe a thread like this actually existed!" but then I was like "oh wait this is even better, dawww"

Ahem...

March 22, tuesday morning I get recruited to army.. during first three days we start with the whole crappy food, impossible times, getting yelled at, push ups, running a bit to make the time, kitchen duty etc. which was supposed to go on for about a week until the real training started.

Sunday morning - I get back to base, our first weekend home. This weekend they were supposed to make us stay there meaning 2 weeks straight at the base, pretty tough.

Anyway, at the evening when everything was dark we had some times to run, a lot of people were holding us back and I wasn't planning to. I run fast and I like it, so I just went on ahead. Too bad it was in a field full of rocks at night while I was wearing those big ass boots so I hit something with my foot, slipped and came crashing down while sprinting, right on my left palm. I get up, people ask me if I'm alright and I'm like "yeah sure no problem". Part of my pants were ripped, I was bleeding from the knee, tiny rocks were lodged in my right hand while my left wrist was killing me while starting to swell up. The commander asks if I'm alright and I say it hurts a bit but yes I'm fine.

Later on I ask to see a medic or a doctor, first I get denied until we go to sleep and only around midnight (about 4 hours after the incident). I speak to my parents over the phone, my dad is a doctor and after saying what happened told me he thinks I broke my wrist and I must get some ice on it pronto and hold it in place. I assume he's over reacting.

Eventually I get called to go see 2 medics, one of them some lanky looking dude and the other happened to be gay. They ask me a few questions, one of them starts checking my hand and says I might have sprained it slightly and tells me to go back, everything's alright. I say I'm worried there might be something more serious, and he says it's fine as there isn't much swelling and the place isn't even warm. I ask for an elastic bandage and some ice but I get told that the ice is in the cafeteria which is closed and they don't have any elastic bandages. Err, alright.

I go to sleep, wake up promptly after from the pain in my left wrist and can't fall asleep or find a good position for my arm and just roll around for a few hours till we get told to wake up. I tell my commanders that it got much worse and they set me up for a doctor, but I only meet him about 5 hours later (remember during this time I had to stay on time, like dress up in a matter of minutes with a sprained wrist. Also it was really starting to swell like a bitch).

The doctor asks me move my wrist, I can barely do it, so he grabs it and starts flailing it around. OH GOD THE PAIN WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING I thought I'd go mad, I have never experienced anything like that, seriously what the hell? He writes something down, calls my commander in and prescribes me some pain killers and sends me on a bus ASAP to get an X-ray. He sent me on my way without ice or something to hold my hand in place.

about an hour and a half later I get an X-ray taken, it's shown to an expert (I forgot the name for this kind of doctor, derp. I think orthopedist or something) and he says it's clear I have a fracture. They send me to the emergency department and it turns out I have TWO fractures on both sides of the wrist.. Get a cast on and I'll have to be with this shit for 2 months now + 3~ weeks physiotherapy after..

Now there I can't go back to the base (where all my stuff is, mind you) for a good while now and I won't get to serve with the people that I met there that I already started to get along with. I don't know what will happen now, this is a real shit start I gotta say. Meh

Major TL;DR I was enjoying my time in the army despite the difficulties and then I fracture my wrist and now my future there is uncertain because it screws with what units I can get into depending on when it will fully heal so you guys are stuck with me for a little longer now because I have to stay at home on orders (this isn't considered as a real vacation as far as army is concerned)

Also I'm pissed at the treatment I got there, those medics are really retarded and don't know a god damn thing. Falling forward on your wrist is such a common fracture they should have suspected it, all it takes is common sense and a triple digit IQ for crying out loud. A medic without bandages, holy shit.

Ahhh, feels good getting that out.

When I was at the local school dance I asked this really cute girl if she wanted to dance with me. She said "Sure, let me just go to the bathroom first." It took nearly two hours for me to realize she decided to ditch me and leave the dance. Before I knew it the party was over. FML!

No this isn't a true story.

So you got injured in your first week of service? At least you could type quite a bit so I hope it was not too bad? Anyway, you need time to heal so I commend you for taking your time to train with Bourne and Kill Bill

They let gays be medics now? Daaaaamn. I hope you're still straight after that experience.

I say I'm worried there might be something more serious, and he says it's fine as there isn't much swelling and the place isn't even warm. Medics have very little medical expertise, as you now know. They are nothing more than a glorified EMT.

Radiologist.

I hope that wasn't your masturbating hand.

I don't know what will happen now, this is a real shit start I gotta say. Meh

Sorry, dude, I hope you feel better soon.

Heh, yep. At first I couldn't but I've been keeping my hand elevated and now that the swelling has gone down and thanks to pain killers and shit I can type at like half speed with my left hand. It's still annoying but getting a bit better every day (I can open bottles now, wooh!)

BrikHaus wrote:They let gays be medics now? Daaaaamn. I hope you're still straight after that experience.

 He was awfully touchy-feely with my hand. Also, I didn't realize you can do the diagnosis with your mouth. Of course I'm kidding it was just a bit funny since he had the accent and body language and everything

BrikHaus wrote:Medics have very little medical expertise, as you now know. They are nothing more than a glorified EMT.

Yeah, I know. Which is why it's even more annoying that they were so confident about it. And at least how to keep a limb that's suspected of fracture stable (put a piece of wood and bandage it tight, I mean) is something they should know. They were morons, simply put.

I had another nightmare about my father last night. I don't even remember the details, just remember an overwhelming sense of shame. fear and brutal, murderous rage. I'm too fucking old for this shit. I don't even know why they're there. He hasn't done anything to piss me off lately, so either he's embedded so deeply into my subconscious that he's become a catch-all metaphor for everything I hate in my life, or I have some kind of repressed trauma that I don't realize the depths of.
"Now, from Nature we obtain abundant information about ourselves, and precious little about others. About the woman you clasp in your arms, can you say with certainty that she does not feign pleasure? About the woman you mistreat, are you quite sure that from abuse she does not derive some obscure and lascivious satisfaction? Let us confine ourselves to simple evidence: through thoughtfulness, gentleness, concern for the feelings of others we saddle our own pleasure with restrictions, and make this sacrifice to obtain a doubtful result." -The Divine Marquis

World of Tanks. It´s an online game which is currently in open beta.
WWI to Korean War era USSSR, USA and German tanks are available.
The damage system is actually incredibly realistic(Your tracks get shot, you must repair them before you can continue;Your turret´s armor/entry hatch gets pierced, your crew dies/gets injured;if your driver is injured the controls will be less responsive, if he dies somebody else covers for him, rendering him unable to fulfill his previous task properly, etc.)

This game is so awesome. I remember the day I found it, I was thinking "hm, I'd like a nice tank simulator" and then someone on another forum brought it.

I'm just pissed that I'll have to lose all my tanks and gold on the 12th. :( FML!!!!
