And a vegetarian, to boot! And they say not eating meat stunts one's growth.

The bastard is taller than me! Not fair!!

His wife, manga artist Moyoco Anno, describes herself in FLOWERS & BEES as a "carnivore," so perhaps there's wacky, Nadia-and-Jean-like hijinks in the kitchen.

I'm 190.5 cm tall. Hmm. I've only met Anno once, but I would have thought he was slightly taller than 180 cm (I don't think he is taller than Rikdo Koshi from EXCEL SAGA, who may be taller than 190.5 cm--anyone here who also saw him at Expo 2003, please give your opinion). Hiroyuki Yamaga doesn't seem much shorter than your average American male--175 cm, maybe a few more.

It's "Guess The Japanese Creator's Height Week" here at the Eva Monkey Forums. By the way, I looked it up and Misato is 163 cm tall; just a touch over 5'4". Shinji and Rei are both a head shorter than her, so they're presumably about 4'8"; Asuka is slightly taller than them; "Ain't never had love for y'all," as the Second Child would say.

I tried guessing character heights a while back, here. That was before I discovered the handier version of the group pic. Sometime I need to go back and recalculate.

That's the chart I used, although without the cm graph. Misato's height, of course, is on the card she flashed in episode 8 (she scratched out her three sizes, which only a Gainax-created organization would require on your ID), so it's a good starting point.

I started watchin evangelion early 1999 when it was first released in australia. I was 12 at the timeand after watchin episode 19 and 20 i became hooked. I watched the rest of the series and loved it. But theyre are some disadvantages of living in australia; Death and rebirth, and end of evangelion werent released here for 4 years. 4 YEARS WITHOUT CONCLUSION!!!!! At the time of the 2 last episodes( i didnt have a clue wat was happening) i knew Misato had died and Misato was my first real anime crush, so well, 4 years in the dark about wat happened to your love........ . But yeah, eventually (after 3years of dealing with early highschool) i got to see EoE. By that time my crush for Misato had gone and now i was payin more attention to Asuka........AND THEN THAT HORRIBLE SCENE!!! i was traumatized  . So after watchin that i put it away for a while and spent the next year ponderng on the meaning of the series. After seeing it as many times as i did i believed i got the meanings right. And so recently i got them back out again( after a year or so of drug abuse) and found my meaning of evangelion easier to understand. It is by far one of the greatest anime series ever :D Also this time around i noticed a lot of things in evangelion that link to my life.
eg. I have a fascination for girls with red hair: Asuka
Asukas dads (or moms) grave stone sez one of the middle names in zeppelin....and one of my faviroute bands is Led Zeppelin.
And that the evas feet (shoes) look like my Doc martins.

But yeah, evangelion has played a major role in my life. Also heaps of my friends are getting into it along with final fantasy 7 so alls cool.

But you are lucky, getting to watch EVA on TV! Except for a few clips, EVA has never been broadcast on a nationwide basis here in America. I used to live in Melbourne, but I've never been to Western Australia.

A friend of mine once did a doujinshi about Asuka getting into heroin, although I hope it wasn't as serious as that.

Woah, my bad. I thought you were whining about the hospital scene being disterbing like most other people. So if you're talking about the part where she gets eaten, I don't say hell yeah and i didin't think in was 7eet.

They got her on some downers? o_o

Anyhow... I'd love to know how Eva ended up appealing to me so much. I absolutely hated (and still hate) mech shows, of which, I guess when it all boils down, Eva is not. I wasn't even really into psychology... at all. But... God, just thinking about it more and more, I'm still so perplexed at how the fuck I ended up loving Eva. I guess it was just fate. Or something. I can find absolutely nothing that I like about Eva that I'd like in any other show. Except that now my interest in psychology has increased. Another thing is that I really like other shows that have Judeo-Christian under/overtones or psychological aspects about them, but I just can't get into discussions about it like I do with Eva.

I remember how, when I would go to animewallpapers.com, I'd see the Eva wallpapers, I disliked them because I thought the animation looked weird.

Well Ayanami, perhaps we can help? What other anime shows do you like? Maybe we'll see a similarity you don't.

Well, it's not really that I care much about discussing psychology in other anime, just that I find it interesting how I'm so interested in Eva's psychological background and not so much in other shows. But whatever.

Like Haibane Renmei and Chrono Crusade (to an extent). I both love them and they have really interesting Judeo-Christian symbolism, but it doesn't get me as excited as with Eva. Maybe I'm just weird. XP

Actually, Rei has been a BAD GIRL and not taking her medication. Notice how the pills are left completely untouched between #05 and #23.
