Just saw it... None of my friends can grasp on why I'm so upset about this thing :facepalm:
I mean, that trailer has *at least* 8 thigs reminiscent of Evangelion (ok, maybe it was me forcing them)

At the very least it will open the door for someone to do Evangelion Live Action... But even so, people will think it's a knockoff of "Pacific Rim" (read the last despectively)

I pray it doesn't. LAEM can't help but be, well, lame. I have nothing invested in Pacific Rim so I don't give a shit if it sucks, but I'd rather not see NGE subjected to that treatment. Just let it die already!

Why are you upset? You make it sound like you're upset because of similarities with Eva but I don't follow why that's necessarily a bad thing.

I'm inclined to agree with the sentiment, personally. Hollywood adaptations more often than not turn out bad. For every Harry Potter or LOTR there's a Dragonball: Evolution and Resident Evil.

What's the Evangelion references in this film that I've been hearing? I mean that outside of the obvious mechs vs monsters, only similar thing I found was the synching with the mechs or something like that.

On the other hand, someone never actually seen NGE and making up all their arguments on the spot would be bizarrely fitting for Evangelion and EGF.
