Newtype makes monthly character polls. They're always contemporary and reflect what's popular at the moment. Duh.


When K-ON!! was airing all girls were in it occasionally; now that the show has ended even from such megapopular show only the two most popular ones (Yui and Mio) remain.

Rei, Asuka etc. were around whole year when 2.0 came out. Now it has already been two years so they aren't here anymore. They're not the newest and freshest stuff around the corner.

btw, you guys obviously have no taste in moe if you think any list that has Kuroneko etc. on it is a bad one. This is first good newtype list in ages! Japan isn't hopeless! Not a single Rei clone in there!

As for males, top three belong to canon of writing good heroes.
