Evangelion 2.0 North American Screening Dates

Looks like Cineplex is having a 1 day screening of Eva 2.0 at theaters across Canada on Jan 20 2011 at 7pm. Check link above for a theater near you, should just type in your postal code for the nearest one. As far as I can tell it's playing in all major cities so mark your calenders.

I'm going to mark this date firmly on my calendar. Oh yeah!!! And this time i'm going to avoid the shitty ass theatre location that spoiled my Evangelion 1.0 viewing last year. Bastards.....

Canada gets all the good things.

When 1.0 came out in the US we got ripped off by having like, two US Showings, both in CALIFORNIA.

Not true. We Canadians get shafted on a lot of things when it comes to scifi and anime. We just got lucky with the Eva movies. I mean look at you Californians. You guys get L.A. anime showings, San Diego Comic Con and other special Japanese screenings with movies direct from Japan. Plus you guys have a way larger Japanese population than we do up here.

Well the U.S. and Canada share a lot of release dates.

So who knows, January 21st is a Friday. That would be a good date for Evangelion 2.0's rumored U.S. theatrical release.

Woohoo! Confirmed my hometown is getting it for that night, but I still wish I lived in the Toronto area. Went to the Colossus when I heard about the restaurants inside, that was just heavenly enjoying my Eva with some good ol' KFC.

Gonna be a wonderful though, and just a few days after my birthday!

I saw a pamplet for 1.0 a while back, and it listed dub names for the cast (so I didn't see it), this one lists the Japanese names, so I assume it'll be in Japanese.

Sorry if there's a thread for this already/if it's been stated in a different thread (if so please feel free to merge it or something) but page 2 isn't loading because my internet is great.

Oddly they used the same press release title as their "It's coming in January" press release.

Also, I forgot to add. This will be dubbed. Not subbed. This isn't a film festival. It's a theatrical run by Funimation as well as two other companies, Funi has been doing theatrical runs, dubbed, for some time now, not once have they done a subbed run.

Just clearing that up if anyone decides to ask.

But it honestly suits 2.0 more than 1.0, it's more actiony (that's a word now), just like the 2.0 movie.
