The cover for Urobuchi's book is out: http://wiki.puella-magi.net/Puella_Magi_Madoka_Magica_The_Beginning_Story . I pre-ordered it. What I found interesting is it's the same artwork as the movie, minus Madoka. http://images.puella-magi.net/b/be/Newtype_12.2011_cover.jpg This reflects the "Homur...

@AR From the setting, it seems that Urobuchi was playfully poking on his "bad rep" and his "bullying Sayaka" persona to say that when there wasn't enough "Sayaka might not be bullied bad enough" for the PSP game, that she'd get a better treatment than she did in the ani...

Kyubey and Homura MC it. One of the new things I noticed is Kyouko ne...

I want to start this post by first thanking symbv for this unexpected little gift! It was a surprise thank you I think for the Otakon Madoka poster I sent him a while back. It's quite the nice Sailor Moon keychain, one I don't have and I will be using it, even if it doesn't really go with my age or ...

@symbv For me, the part that's reassuring was Urobuchi liking the script. After so many interviews where he expressed concern about whether he could write a continuation, that was good news. So it feels like the sequel movie should be good. I wasn't sure if I should post on the game speculation rega...

Sorry about the MIA. Seems I will have to purchase a new laptop afterall but first I am going to try and rebuild it. So scans will be bit delayed. Some news from Megami...the one of the girls on the ice rink is Megami by the way while the Homura and Madoka beach one is NyanType, in case anyone was w...

Edited to add: I forgot to answer your question, symbv. The gender viewer distribution is from Ure Pia magazine, conducted by Ascii Research Institute. I have no idea about the methodology or so on about it. Maybe you can dig up more info if you want - http://yaraon.blog109.fc2.com/blog-entry-5489....

Before anyone gets too excited, those "graphic novels" are actually the PMMM manga not the Nitro+ novels. You can tell because Yen Press states it as "story by Magica Quartet, art by hanokage." Why Okazu chose to call it graphic novels instead of manga, I have no idea. ANN proper...

Thanks, symbv. I added the translation to the wiki: http://wiki.puella-magi.net/Guidebook#Ending_Theme Now wanting to report some really interesting news! Madoka has a secret new project. No one knows what it's about but because it's secret, the feeling is it probably isn't the movies or game etc. t...

Thanks, Useriel. I posted before in this thread a youtube video of Aoi Yuuki and Chiwa Saito talking about Dance in the Vampire Bund. It's raw not translated. But in part 2, you can see they have a good repoire. That's the first anime they collaborated together in and it seems ever since then they'r...

Playing catch-up after not feeling well these last few days. Still not 100% but good enough to post. This will be a long one. @symbv I think Mami and Moemura's use of last-name+san went beyond standard formality though to a feeling of keeping people distant, if you were to use Hitomi as the metric o...

Oh I have a lot to post today: @symbv It wasn't until ep. 10 that I realized this, but naming convention is pretty important in Madoka, even more so than in many other anime. The Homura mercy-kill scene, "Homura-chan, you finally called me by my name [Madoka], I'm so happy..." (classic mah...

That would be cool if you could, soul.assassin but if you don't, that's fine. I think look at the scans closely for that proof I mentioned, it's obvious they're not real. Ah I forgot to mention before, but the girls that Kubota met looking at the manga are different from the girls mentioned previous...

Re: PMMM Guidebook translation p.120-121 (episode commentary

Thanks for the tips! This is going to be helpful (though that still leaves the question of how to answer the next question "so what changes in hair did you see?" :gasp; :-) If you say what I suggested with some confidence, odds are very high they will answer it themselves by saying someth...

Looks like I missed a fun convo while I took a day off from Madoka to catch up with other things. @FM Nice Madoka! There are lots of 2ch pics where she's featured with other characters, particularly mecha, but since they're usually not doing much together, I haven't posted those. She looks cute no m...

Oh.... even I stare at the character design pic I don't think I will call the hairstyle asymmetric right way... Guess there is something about female sensitivity regarding hairstyle... Do you remember where she said that? Yes, here - "Her personality is so boyish that I had to be careful not t...

Hm, this is unexpected, but now I'm inspired to talk about girls hairstyle in a Madoka thread! Here is the asymmetrical hairstyle of Sayaka's I was talking about, cut in the back: http://i.imgur.com/YuC53.jpg Ume Aoki mentioned she added it to give a more feminine look to Sayaka so she wasn't so tom...

@symbv One thing that I've felt has been missing in Sayaka cosplay is the asymmetrical feel to her hair and skirt. I can see why someone may not want to cut and alter their wig, but it wouldn't be difficult to put that touch on a skirt without serious alteration. You could just pin up one side a bit...

Thanks, symbv for more translations. It's interesting to hear how so many things that seemed well-planned with purposeful design were so often off-the-cuff decisions, like the ribbons. I was certain the ribbon was a nod to Shinbo's Nanoha and maybe it still ended up that way, but it certainly wasn't...
