Thanks, for the suggestions. Among other things, I did uninstall firefox after having exported the bookmarks as I thought it was one of the main culprits. I also deleted whatever was left of it in the Program (x86) folder. As I re-installed the latest version from a brand new .exe file, the ...

I'm running Win10 on the fast ring on my work ultrabook, and UI wise that is really what Win7's successor ought to have been -- not forcing mobile phone idioms onto your multi-monitor battlestation. Sounds good already. SSD, I meant that could be a risk in jumping a new boat too soon... I r...

After buying my first Mac for college back in 2008, I can firmly say that I will NEVER buy another PC-based computer ever again. The thing lasted for 6 years before it started having a noticeable decline in speed. It also never had any problems, save when the video card or whatever went out 3 years...

Probably too far away since I might start a new project in the second week of June and it'd be a risk to start it with the current machine. I am going to be in the UK in 10 days and if I need a new laptop I can buy it there (I want a UK English build). I could wait with the current machi...

Remedies for Windows slowing down or suggestions for laptop

Hello Eva Geeks, I wouldn't have dared opening such a topic but I see the "help me and my PC/laptop" thing has been done before so I guess it's allowed. I've had an HP Probook 4340s for about two years now. British build, Windows 7. It started quite well but now it gets quite s...

Being fair, I totally love the low-poly graphics and unfiltered textures on the PS1. (Not so much the vaseline filter on the N64), I'm just saying that, personally, PS2-era graphics seem too "good" to be retro. They will look bad the moment you plug the console on a 50" H...

I think it's because the PS2 gen was the first gen (on consoles) with actually good and competent 3D graphics, so it's kind of hard to consider that 'retro', in my opinion. True, ps1/n64/saturn generation was still featuring a lot of low-res textures on extremely boxy figure...

I remember doing a 2nd impact party on 13/09/2000 when I was in high school :D

It's a shame there aren't more precise dates in the rest of the series... I guess it's supposed to start in August 2015, right?

Here's a good chunk of my collection, it started some 15 years ago, it's mostly video supports and books. I was never a fan of character statues... VHS video tapes (published in Italy between 1999 and 2001) http://i.imgur.com/sH8n9VC.jpg The very detailed Encyclopedia which was inclu...

SSD, no I wasn't particularly meaning you (and/or your view on the topic at hand) over other instances of people building castles in the air, not to worry.

I rank as fanwank anything that is not the "shortest path/most simple explanation", anything that would entail more offscreen things to happen than the very bare minimum. Also, I'm very happy to live with "there's not enough evidence to decide about that one thing beyond reas...

[...] That is my take on it, anyway. I realize opinions will differ on the matter. Shut up and take my money! I'm in shock, absolutely in shock at the fact that you, of all people, are arguing in favour of the least fanwanktastic option. I just can't believe it. This said, I'm not sure ...

The only good thing about DB would be the narration to go back to the pre-Z period. Like all the stuff Goku might have done after beating the Red Ribbon (and Pilaf again) and before the Tenkaichi tournament with Tenshinhan, the one that sparks the Piccolo arc. It's a 3 year period of gok...

I agree with SEELE always winning even though their plans didn't seem that great. I honestly think that Eva was meant to mostly be about the characters, and that they almost didn't think many of the overall events were that important. That's why we're still piecing everything togeth...

I suppose it could have been a useful test run for techniques implied to be used with later Evas (skipping a contact experiment altogether and just having the core suck a soul from a cadaver). I guess that would be the way they got a soul/the soul of Toji's mother into Eva-03. Makese se...

I suppose it bears remembering that Kyoko has a brain and not just a soul. So, even with the "maternal component" suddenly ripped out, her brain still remembers that she's a mother and has a daughter named Asuka. I guess the mental illness is supposed to be a result of the sudden disc...

D. In-Depth Information When Asuka's mother carried out the experiment with the Eva's core, only part of her soul — the maternal component that loves her daughter above all else — remained within Eva Unit-02. This is why she could not recognize her daughter. "maternal component that lo...

By re-merge, she means that Kyoko's split soul was put back together in the Eva after her death, which explains the dual messages she gives in EoE (simultaneously saying "please die with me," and "you've got to live"). This is supported by the fact the the nutty ...
