Re: FML general thread [8]
Thank you all, despite a very tiny amount of residual soreness I actually feel amazing right now and I was well enough to go back to work yesterday. Last night was probably the first time I was able to sleep for more than four hours and it was simply divine.

Re: FML general thread [8]
I have what I believe is strep throat, and I'm currently on day 5 with no easing of symptoms in sight. I can not sleep because the pain keeps me up every ten seconds, so I just lay down and await the cold embrace of death. Please comfort me and tell me I'm going to be alright. I don't care if it's a...

Re: Recent Hauls 3: The quest for more stuff
The art shop I'm in charge of got back in stock a Sleepy Hollow painting we had last Fall. I've been eye-balling it ever since so I jumped on this one when I found out it was in stock and no one had bought it at the end of the night.

Re: Is it reasonable to believe that people would blame Shinji for 3I?
With Shinji saying he doesn't care what happens to the world, I think he is at keast aware of the whole ordeal being dangerous. It's the "I don't care what happens" mindset he gets punished for. Also several warnings from Ritsuko. Don't know if he can actually hear those lol. But that mig...

Re: Is it reasonable to believe that people would blame Shinji for 3I?
It's implied in the talk between Ritsuko and Misato that Shinji still could back out. Ritsuko notices that the situation is becoming pretty bad and Shinji should be stopped. That's why Ritsuko says Misato that she should convince Shinji to stop. However, Misato decides to support him (and Ritsuko w...

Re: Is it reasonable to believe that people would blame Shinji for 3I?
I think what triggered the Impact was playing god and "reversing" Rei's death. Zeruel dies before the Impact proper starts (or at least looks pretty dead) I don't really think it's really possible for Shinji to back out at that point. Especially considering nobody except the actual guilty...

And she would be dead too if it weren't for Shinji killing the tenth angel. There was literally no other outcome that was better for everyone involved.

Re: Is it reasonable to believe that people would blame Shinji for 3I?
No, and it never will be. Many years later, my view of Q may have changed significantly over time, but my view on Shinji's """guilt""" has remained static. If anything, Shin has done even more to exonerate Shinji and make the whole idea of him being responsible/in the w...

Re: Anno: Rebuild as entertainment, mostly not what he wants to do
Although many point to Q as some kind of proof that the "more mainstream" intention of NTE was a red herring/troll all along by mastermind Anno, you only have to look at VA interviews in the press cycle before Thrice where they promise Thrice will be more understandable, and communicate a...

Shin Eva - Official Blu-ray Release 2022!
I love Eva but I sure ain't paying monthly for Prime just to have easy access to a single movie I want to watch. Please don't tell me Khara's deal with Amazon means they aren't going to at least release a Japanese Blu-ray. The fact that there has been this much silence when the movie came out at the...

Re: Recent Hauls 3: The quest for more stuff
October 1st was Magic Kingdom's 50th anniversary. They were handing out these mini-posters along with a commemorative guide map to all of us in the tunnels below the park who was working that day. I was able to get a frame for it off Amazon.

Maybe it’s because it’s been a while since I last put 3.33 in my disc tray, but I felt everything looked a bit more crisp in this version.

Re: Anything you regret in life?
I regret not being able to save my Ex from her raging psychopathy. I don't say that as just a throw-away insult, she is legitimately unwell and I hope someone one day is able to show her the damage she has caused so many people and put her on the right path. I don't know if I should feel regret thou...

Edit: Nvm, I saw the previews. "That's our Q" lol. Idk if it's just me, but I feel like the Funi NEPs had better dialogue.
Because they stayed true to the intent of those previews and what they were like in NGE.

Re: 11th Angel
How exactly was it handled poorly? The exposition in 3.0 made it clear that it was encountered after 2.0 and sealed away - we saw and found out exactly as much of it as was needed for the plot of 3.0. My opinion of Q has changed considerably over the years, I absolutely love the movie but my views ...

Re: Shin Eva General: Reborn
This movie is over two hours yet Instrumentality feels rushed for some reason? Maybe Shinji shouldn’t have found peace with himself just yet before returning to the Wunder, and instead he also goes through Instrumentality with everyone else? I don’t know, I could be incredibly wrong but to me I feel...

Re: 11th Angel
Theoretically killed offscreen; but even the 12th Angel was handled poorly and we at least got to see that one. IIRC someone floated around the theory of the Key being the embryonic nervous system of the 11th, but lack of popularity has the idea lost to time. Not to mention the Key ended up being a ...

The Advanced Ayanami Series
What is the point in the distinction between previous Rei clones and these new “advanced” ones? How are they advanced? Do they have any purpose beyond being throw away pilots? Also: “Pure life forms free from sexual distinction” Might want to get your eyes checked there Professor Fuyutsuki, I clearl...
