Don't know if this is controversial or not, but I find that 90s anime - I'm talking about the ones commonly rated as being good - tend to have superior character writing when compared to even the best of what we have today.

anthy's a fucking unlikeable bitch. Fair. Anthy is guilty of the exact same set of harm-doing towards the other characters as Akio, so it is understandable that some people will find her unlikable. But, IMHO both siblings are complex enough, well-executed enough characters to be worth the audie...

I think the main difficulty in doing a competent english dub for Utena is that much of the Japanese dialogue already has this distinctive classic Japanese flair to it. Utena strikes me as one of those series that is near-impossible to dub well in English. The original VA cast is just too strong IMHO.

I kept on waiting for UnBroken and Neon Genesis Evangelion: This is (not) Our Fate to get updated, but . . . oh well. Am still crossing my fingers for Eaters of Sins' eventual continuation
