The Mystery of the Second Cross in 3.0

While we were brainstorming the Children = Adams theory, Reichu noticed something very interesting in Eva 3.0. This bloody cross laying among the sea of skulls in Central Dogma? https://i.imgur.com/sYydbhx.jpg This is not the same cross previously seen in 1.0 and 2.0. It is far, far bigger. Recall t...

Re: [Merch] Evangelion Figures Superthread [3]

I don't expect they'll sell the 4444C, that thing is WAAAAY too big, even for diorama standards... Although, given RD's history, I wouldn't be the least surprised its some sort of limited edition sold at an overinflated price... That diorama's still smaller than the full figure would be too. It onl...

They say something to the effect that she's pretty but photographs don't capture her personality. Which is true, she doesn't get on with the two of them at all and can be a real jerkass, but she's not like that all the time.

Re: Netflix Release General Discussion

^I have the dubbed VHS but I'm not sure if we still have a vcr or not. ^^; I'll check when I get home. I am not condoning any of the bash lash behaviour that's happening regarding Khara, I'm only bringing this up as I can see why that's happening but I also don't think the guys handling of it has be...

Re: Netflix Release General Discussion

@Reichu What's your overall impression of the quality of the subs? I have noticed they're missing things like the background dialogue in 21 and some of the text inserts. I 100% understand how passionate we all are about Eva (especially wanting newcomers to enjoy this show!), but I'm moreso flabberga...

Re: Netflix English Dub Discussion

I've been only checking out certain scenes with the new dub (DC 22 for instance) but this especially makes me happy. Yeah, that was a really nice surprise for me too! Can't remember if I mentioned this here (been talking about the dub in a couple different places :p), but while I generally like Gra...

Re: Netflix English Dub Discussion

Lance of LonGYnus "Nerufu" (this one kinda sounds like they were trying to pronounce it the way the Japanese cast did, instead of with the hard V) I think 'Longinus' might be a case of insistent terminology from khara. Kaworu pronounces it that way, or very close to it, in the final 3.33 ...

Re: Netflix Release General Discussion

I know this isn’t how the internet works but it would be nice to see some small mea culpa given to Gen Fukunaga & his peers by nerds online. Everyone just thought he was being salty when he said Netflix getting Eva has its downsides because for them the series is just a piece of content and not...

Re: Netflix Release General Discussion

Kaworu uses entirely different terms, and the line is very clearly in the plural: "What are the two of you in my heart?" "*We* are the hope... *together* with the words "I love you" " And remember, they are there as primarily Adam and Lilith, not Kaworu and Rei. And ri...

Just a heads up for everyone: Death True^2 and End of Evangelion are their own separate listings and aren't batched together with the episodes.

Re: Netflix English Dub Discussion

Has anyone listened to the new Asuka? Asuka sounds like a younger, less shrill version of Grant's Asuka. She's voiced by Stephanie McKeon. She doesn't have the same dynamic range as Grant but I think the voice is very fitting for Asuka's age (which was always a relatively small problem I had with G...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

I've noticed that Japanese Godzilla almost always starts as a heel and then arcs toward an anti-hero in later movies as he fights other monsters. There's always some initial event where Godzilla is hostile towards humanity. In the Heisei and Millennium series he never loses that antagonistic streak....

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

If things continue in the direction they're currently heading it looks like Godzilla vs Kong will be the final installment of the Monsterverse. From what I understand, Legendary's deal with Toho expires after Godzilla vs Kong anyway and Toho is set to roll out their own new series starting in 2021....

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

Re: Ghidora They threw in imagery comparing Ghidora to William Blake’s Great Red Dragon paintings, and you know what? They actually earned it. They made him awesome and terrible. Giving each head a unique personality added a lot. Am I reading into it too much or were they trying to imply that he wa...

Re: Godzilla & Kaiju General!

I get the sense that this GKotM movie might feel more like a big budget version of a Jun Fukuda Godzilla flick, rather than a big budget version of an Ishiro Honda Godzilla flick. Is this true? I mean, I’ll enjoy either, but I prefer the latter. The best way I can think to describe it is that someo...

Re: Superhero/Comic Based Films & Tv - Vol.2

Regarding the plot of the movie, I do wish they'd had one more scene showing how 2014 Thanos' ship got to the present when they didn't have any more Pym particles. I was left with the impression that Thanos had his people reverse engineer them and the temporal GPS since we saw Nebula give hi...
