Do you guys ever turn "off" your brains and just enjoy the movie? I did the first time I watched it, and I liked Rebuild then. But then my brain turned on and started thinking about what I'd just seen. I don't mind turning my brain off for an exciting action movie or something sim...

Didn't he use the differences between the "next episode preview" for 2.0 and the 2.0 movie itself, which are only natural in any marketing technique, to "prove" his point? Nope! I said "2.0" there, meaning the whole and breadth of the movie itself. Later, I went on...

FFF4E & Legendary: You need to remember trailers are, by nature, comprised of cuts from the production of the film they are intending to advertise. I have not denied this either. Is my point that obtuse? I only ever refuted the idea that the vast majority of the content seen in the preview woul...

Two illiterates. Read my post. I am upset because he is accusing me of judging a movie without seeing it and that he does not understand that he is arguing a straw version of me without actually touching upon my real opinion.

before passing judgement on a movie you havn't seen yet OH MY FUCKING GOD. WHERE DID I JUDGE Q, YOU APPARENTLY ILLITERATE FUCKHEAD? Listen. If you don't understand after this, you never will. There paraphrasings, but I keep the meaning intact all the way through: I say: Q is going to be cra...

I am not referring to a simple dropped scene or two - 2.0 did that and losing those moments was not among its problems. However GA suggested that a final version of Q might have little to nothing in common with the trailer put in 2.0, which is not a normal trailer for commercials but something made ...

On the one hand, I'd like to argue that the staff wouldn't be so incompetent as to invalidate their next episode preview.

On the other hand, 2.0 kind of proves me wrong on the incompetence front, so I really am not sure if I should argue with you or not.

Your arguments for sequel theory rely on two kinds of evidence: 1) Things in Rebuild ending up looking like EoE. Unfortunately, as all have explained backstories, we run into a problem. Apparently the chain of events is: Rei kills everyone, makes the seas red -> Shinji rejects Instrumentality ->...

Nope. I can only think of two right now anyway: the lights going out all over Japan (which looks suspiciously unsunk) and the spear coming out towards Arael (blocked by cloud cover).

We've already established the sheer unlikelihood of Shinji/Rei being ignored to any significant extent in Q, so now we're at effectively four pilots at the least (Shinji and Rei being treated together throughout the film), five at most (Shinji and Rei having separate experiences&...

We know very little. Japan's weather is the only one consistently described. However, America is apparently starving, so it's likely it's not doing very well for itself. On the other hand, it might be a lack of a work force and not a result of weather. A thought experiment I am aware of ...

Water's blue, but the ripples are exactly the same. It's just standard design reuse, because it's easier to copy something over and over than make unique-looking designs EACH TIME. As for Asuka, I don't think it's an argument for sequel theory that she obtains similar sets of inj...

You need to read posts more closely. Nobody made the point that Asuka wasn't a factor in 20-22, for instance. You said conclusion , actually. I took this to mean "Descent Arc", as NGE's literal conclusion is in 26, where Asuka's presence is in abundance. Also, we're talkin...

....Where's that handy infographic that so delightfully points out that Nadia has that very same scene as well? That seems relevant here.

It isn't just a single episode. It's the entire conclusion. NGE's finale is the Shinji/Rei/Kaworu/Misato show. Having speaking parts doesn't mean one is a significant part of the conclusion. Maya has a sparking part too. After her mental break down, Asuka is a non-factor. 20: Shinji...

X-wings never had sexual or personal empowerment connotations. Sure they do, on a personal level. That's the whole point. Luke used to be under the thumb of his uncle or the direct guidance of Obi-Wan. Getting into the X-wing is the first big thing he does in his life that's all him. And Ev...
