Rather interesting thread...In my opinion, I think it's pretty certain that Asuka had feelings for him. If it was really love or not is up for debate. I also think that Asuka has the capacity to love Shinji given that they have a...more stable and less chaotic relationship. I said it once and I&...

Actually, Joeshie, they were . This is classic stuff, too. How is it possible for animals, especially plants, to determine if they come back or not? Trees don't have a conciousness, so how can they make the choice to come back or remain as a soul? Originally posted on: 13-Jun-2005, 05:06 GMT

Plants and animals were not a part of Instrumentality. This evolution is strictly for humans.

Well, if Asuka borrowed some tricks from the arthropod world, she could have sex with Shinji once and safely store all of the received sperm in a special place. Then her abdomen could swell to termite queen proportions and she could selectively release sperm to fertilize ova as needed. She could pr...

Same for me. I fully support an A/S relationship, but when you look at the evidence, the possibility of an Adam/Eve scenario is very unlikely.

She wanted to live. We don't know if other people reformed elsewhere, all over the world. Take a look at the website Mr. Tines gave. Then scroll down to the next article. There is an article that is suggesting that when the people "reimagine" themselves, they come back as newborn babi...

Yep, GNR definitely puts the impact into Third Impact. Q: This is plainly not how Asuka returned. A: The pilots can be argued to be special cases due to their unique circumstances. How in the world is Asuka a special case? She was absorbed by GNR just as the rest of humanity so one would assume tha...

Due to the impact of 3I, tons of dust is kicked up into the Earth's atmosphere. The Earth then becomes superheated due to the greenhouse effect. Eventually, mankind is forced to live underground away from the heat. However, they soon discover that the Evangelions are alive! In fact, the Evangeli...

I would have to say that the tv ending, and the movie ending are completely different. The original ending, the tv ending, was very bland for such a groundbreaking anime. From what i heard Japanese fans were upset that eva ended so..."quietly" so a movie remake of the last 2 or 4 episodes were...

^2 Could be, she just looked like she was having trouble lifting it and that was a sort of source of pain. http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/../images/sweating.gif ^ Me too. -__- I highly doubt that Asuka would even be able to lift her arm if it cleaved in half and then just wrapped in ban...

http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/../images/lol.gif I watched EoE again last weekend and each time that final scene plays, it leaves me wanting a sequel more. I actually thought that Evangelion ended on a really interesting note. It leaves us with the slate completely open to possibilities...

The answer to that is: she does want him, but she doesn't like the way he treats her. You would have to understand Asuka is not in whole one way or the other. That's where the ambiguity of her character lies, like all characters, between what they want and what they think is better for them...

She she sees the one she wants rejecting her (as he has done for real before), which is no comfort. Shinji, when he replaces Kaji, is just there. I see that as her being shown, of all the people in the world that she might consider, there are simply the man she now knows she can't have,...

Well the way the kitchen scene ends is the biggest take, Shinji chokes Asuka. This never happened before, this is what Shinji wanted to do during the "Kaji is dead" scene, and a few dozen others, but he didn't have the guts. This time he goes ahead and does it. But how do we know that...

While the events from the previous scenes are clearly distored and given a "commentary" by the characters involved, it does not appear that way with the kitchen scene. The scene is very linear and has no interjections that break the scene. Is it not possible to assume that the event is not...

Well, I was having this debate on another forum about if the scene where Shinji chokes Asuka after their big fight in the kitchen was a melding of minds or if it was simply a memory of something that happened in the past. I was arguing that this scene was an interaction between the minds of Shinji a...

LOL I guess it doesnt really matter. If we'll fast forward to later that night Shinji is about to kiss her but is put off in turn when she starts saying "mommy" in her sleep. So maybe Shinji is rejected by this, which is why he doesnt pursue Asuka? I suppose he is rejected because he ...
