The acting styles are exactly the same in every single Star Wars movie. And they are acting in a specific style derived from 30's Saturday afternoon matinees, Film Noir, & the Golden age of Hollywood. It is technicly not bad acting because they are doing exactly what the director wants and d...

Star Wars isn't a trilogy or a pair of trilogies for that matter. It is a saga. You are stepping on my turf on that one, buddy. So you can't win with me on the subject of Star Wars. btw, All the Star Wars movies are great. Love 'em all or leave 'em, pal! Originally posted on: 08-Jan-...

:scared: PAMELA ANDERSON?

Pamela Anderson couldn't be made up to look 24, let alone 14. How could you even mention that aging skank in our sacred Lord Of The Rings thread?

Not that this thread is about LOTR, but I got a lot more emotionaly out of the movies than I did out of the book.

OK. Now back to Evangelion.

Uh, Doctor Worm & thx, instead of joining the bastardization squad, why not writing your own original scifi-stories? Playing with somebody else's story just prevents you from truly letting loose your own creative powers. Uh, because writing fan-fiction is fun and it's a great way to pra...

You might as well take a stab at it Doctor Worm.

I've been thinking of doing it myself.

I think triggerstreet.com has some useful hints and stuff for writing screenplays but It's a little too close to my bedtime to go confirm it right now.

Yeah right! I have never ever seen a women that looks like a Satanic biker. I've seen atleast a few girls that resemble Asuka (the real one). Just because someone's skinny doesn't mean they are bulimic, there are tons and tons of skinny people in the world.... I'm still find...

And Asuka looks like an old hag. No sex appeal at all. Her curves are all screwed and her hair looks like Peppy Longstocking or something Uh, sorry dude, but that's what actual human females look like. The female characters in the anime are way to boney. There's no way they'll be able t...

I was also looking for a Rei concept drawing but i couldn't find it on-line.

There should be one a few pages back on this thread. It's a picture of an EVA 01 design with Rei in the background.

edit: I mean EVA 00.

I agree that those neural interface/whatever things on Asuka's head look a little to much like horns in that pic. I hope that is not what they look like in the movie. I dug the cat-ear look of the animation more. Thanks for posting the pics Li Shouron18 . You can definately get a better look at ...

Rei is not an albino, atleast I see no reason to think that. It's true that in the series itself, it is never actualy stated that Rei is an albino. In fact, the blue hair probably has more to do with anime tradition than any "real world" explanation. (Like Misato's purple hair...

Before anyone gets thier panties in a bunch, take a look at these Ralph McQuarrie concept paintings for the original Star Wars movie. here The guy on the left is supposed to be Obi-wan Kenobi. (looked pretty different in the actual movie, didn't he) here Does anyone remember Stormtrooper...

I fail to see what's so horrible about that Eva Unit 00 design. The only significant differance I see is in the head armor. You guys are gonna die early deaths if you let little things like that bother you. It does seem odd that WETA's Rei design would appear to have dark hair and skin as op...

who ever said it was gonna come to america?

This project is a co-production from GAINAX & ADV films. I seriously doubt a company in the US (ADV) would put up money and effort for a movie that will only be released in Japanese theaters.

Do you think Eva is going to feel groovy anymore when they've cut out the religious crap, insanity, sexual frustrations and blood? What makes you think that these aspects would be absent from a live-action version? Remember that The Matrix is an R-rated sci-fi/action film that has done quite we...

If the live action version is going to retain the original names of the characters then they should hire actors of asian decent... period. Why would somebody want to assume that an asian actor couldn't act as well as a caucasian performer. Most American actors are really just on screen personali...

Winona Ryder as Rei, huh?

Well, Rei does steal Commander Ikari's glasses. Wouldn't that be type-casting? heh heh heh.

Now we just need to add a little stars & stripes to the NERV-logo and the commercial side is taken care of! Since when has Eva not been comercialized. Eva may be virtualy unknown to the mainsteam in the US (or other parts of the world), but in Japan you can buy Asuka soapdishes for crip...

Both of you have raised good points and I definatly appreciate the fully developed responses. I guess I should clarify some of what I meant about the "fleshing out" of LOTR. While the story and events are definatly condensed, the characters in the film are far more fully developed than in ...
