A separate section is probably best. I think we will most likely end up needing multiple seprate sections for different things. I haven't had a good look through my Eva stuff for a while now (it's all backed up on CD since the move to the UK, so I haven't had to handy) but I'...

Also here is a bunch of other name stuff I have in my "names" text file, though I have absolutely no idea where I got it from. I must be turning senile in my old age, I've got all this stuff I've collected over the years I've been discussing Eva, most of it circa 1999/2000 and ...

I was originally going to post this in the OP thread, but I think that should be kept for specific OP discussion. This thread deals specifically with name references in Eva, but also it could be used for more general references if people think we should expand its scope. Anyway, onwards! Here is a t...

Just a bump, becuase I want to let everyone know I am still alive, and becuase I do still have things to say about episode 01. Ill be flying back into the UK on the 17th of August (booked my flight yesterday, €21 easyjet from Paris to London!! Cheap!) I am in Florence at the moment, and Inte...

Sorry if this seems rushed. I leave for Paris this afternoon! Reichu:  Much obliged. Odds are, if it existed at at, it would be somewhat less ambitious... It really does take a crazy person to devote so much of herself to something like this. Crazy, or dedicated and hardworking... take your p...

Ok that's enough for one night. I'll do my best to make some more comments, and respond to specific points other people raised in this thread as soon as possible. My participation here for the next three months will be very sporadic. I'm going backpacking around Europe, so I won't ha...

Ok, so I've been meaning to do this for ages now, but have been really slack in getting around to it. Here is my initial comments on episode 01. I haven't checked to make sure these comments haven't already been made in this thread itself, I'm basing my comments on the most recent ve...

Uh, I think that's because they have already submitted in their comments and are waiting for episode #02 commentary to start. Indeed! Though if I weren't in Prague right now and didn't have to pay so much for Internet access, I would have many more comments to submit for episode #01. I ...

First I must apologise. I said I would get back on this quickly and I didn't. This past week I've been moving out of what has been my home for the last six months. It's 5am in the morning here and I'm leaving today, so I thought it was about time I addressed everything I need to. Jin...

Reichu: Keep us posted on that, would ya? Good quoting material, I would think. Will do. Bochan is usually fairly quick with his translations, but this one seems to be taking some time. But do you think there was really a specific reason that Pen^2 was left out of the opening? No particularly, othe...

More opening stuff: 001c - RE: Religous misconceptions, Bochan_Bird recently posted the following on the Eva ML: According to a very frank and open 40-minute interview by Anno on the NHK TV program "Top Runner" ( www.nhk.org.jp/tr/ ) about a week or so ago, all religious and philos...

It looks very similar to what's in "Graphic Novel" Vol.1 (differences could possibly be attributed to different translations), except the date of writing is given as July 17, 1995, in Vol.1, as opposed to July 10 in that FAQ. Hmm... Well, since I'm a fast typist, I'll ...

That third eye always reminded me of something else (but I wouldn't want to assault your virgin ears http://evageeks.org/forum/images/archive_fgc/-wink.gif )... Also, as mentioned before, I think we should wait to explore the subjects of Rei's medication and Touji's accent. Heh ...

Touji speaks with a Kansai dialect, which is a much more slurred form of Japanese I hear even some native Japanese have trouble understanding. There's probably tons of information on the Internet about it ("You Too Can Speak With a Kansai Dialect! It's Hip! It's Cool! It's ...

001c: <suggestion> Thanks Dr. Nick for the head's up on this. I really dislike this misconception. I'll rewrite this next week (I'm going away for the weekend), but just as a place holder for now here is "the quote". When asked at Otakon 2001 to explain the symbolism o...

So... bit of a meta-post here, but when do people think that we should move on to episode one? It was suggested earlier that we should try and overlap the transitions, move on to the next episode while still putting the finishing touches on the previous one. There is a still a lot of good discussion...

Revivied because, well I have things to add! http://evageeks.org/forum/images/archive_fgc/-happy.gif I remember reading *somewhere* that Anno asked Megumi Hayashibara to sing the <Rei> rendition "like the previous one, but imagine yourself strangling a little cat with a big smile on your face&q...
