Re: Forum Wackiness

That error shows up as a result of my custom URL-writing code not handling certain cases correctly. Looks like another such case has popped up.

Re: Final Fantasy series

I was able to get them to a point where I could be 99% hands off during battle. DPS doesn't matter as much to me so long as my party is for the most part self-sustaining. I tried to play the game that way but reached a point where it just didn't seem feasible, like I was fighting the game to get it...

Dispatches from the Video Game Industry

I work in video games. Working in video games, one learns things first-hand that fans on the outside looking in (including me, at one point) either don't know, might have big misconceptions about, or might have suspected but never really known for sure. Here are some of those things: * You know how ...

Re: Official Pokémon Thread

And is it too much to ask for if they just do a game that takes you through every region in existence and you choose where you start, and the game adjusts itself based on that. Call them Pokemon World Journey , with three versions Crimson, Citrine, and Cobalt. And they could make a Pokemon Amber to...

Re: E3 2017

Also, Sony is saying that a lot of Japanese developers are leaving mobile gaming and coming back to console. :D I remember when someone or other at Square-Enix opined that Final Fantasy XV would make or break the future of consoles. Whether or not that was accurate, I'm glad to hear this news (if, ...

NemZ Has Passed Away

Brian Paul Schlitt, known to the EvaGeeks community as NemZ, passed away just over a month ago on April 12, 2017, at age 38. We found out just yesterday when his brother notified us by posting in the staff section using his account, linking us to his obituary . For those of who you might ask, all we...

Re: Nintendo Switch

.....aaaaand silence, lol. I'M BUSY. I'm also planning to get one really soon, possibly today or tomorrow. A guy at work said he was surprised at how good Breath of the Wild is, saying (and I'm paraphrasing in the extreme) that he wasn't expecting much but the game has blown him away. The ensuing d...

Re: Everything is Rockin'! [RML Thread 4]

With 2 full weeks under my belt now, I can safely say: I love my job. For those of you who don't know, I recently started a 9-month contract gig at an undisclosed AAA video game studio, as a programmer. I knew I would like it there, but I didn't know I would love it this much; I go to work every day...

...So, uh, this is out now. Kinda expected someone would have already posted about it today... You can bet I'll be posting about it as soon as I have it, but I don't want to start it until I've finished P4AU. Otherwise, I've been avoiding as much as I can about the game -- including this topic; wha...

Are you missing on-site notifications as well (if you have them enabled) or just email notifications?

Have you checked your "User Control Panel" -> "Board preferences" -> "Edit notification options" to make sure the correct boxes are checked?

This game is fucking awesome. I can't tell you how pleased I am as a fan of the franchise to see it return to form so successfully after the brief dip that was Absolution. At first I actually didn't like it, but once I started seeing how the elements of its design play off each other, I began to mar...

Re: Everything is Rockin'! [RML Thread 4]

 I had a nearly four-hour interview process today. These guys were thorough . And yet, it was probably the most relaxed interview I've ever had, in part because I was able to express myself more completely than I have at shorter interviews. (That we went out to a friendly lunch before the int...
