For me two of three moment standout as truly wtf. First would be Ritsuko destroying the Rei clones. The whole scene was all sorts of disturbing from the vacantly smiling clones to Ritsuko's total breakdown. Second would be Unit 1 going berserk and consuming Zeruel. The animistic way it moved, th...

Uhm, ok, but we are literally talking about two aging guys in a freaking wreck of a base, whereas Wille had loads of people, a small team of Wille people could have sufficed. I mean Misato CAN shoot a gun for crying out loud... It still looks silly to me, although a bit less than before. What I res...

I had always assumed that Rei I was simply repeating what she overheard Gendo saying and it was Naoko's own twisted imagination that put the malicious spin on it. To strangle the young girl and then throw herself off a ledge certainly demonstrates she wasn't all right in the head at that poi...

Hmmmm I don't get that, WILLE didn't think he would escape, why would they even mention the spears, or even know about them themselves? SEELE wanted them pulled, so tricked him and Kawrou, and by the time Shinji was told not to, Shinji was long gone mentally. It's more along the lines o...

I think Charsi has the right of it. The film is a massive break from 2 and at times seems contradictory such as the consequences of near third impact in 2 seem much less severe than the miserable post-apocalypse we see in Q. This leaves the viewer feeling disjointed as if they have missed something ...

Will Shinji find love in Final? As it stands probably not. Of those around him there are hardly any with which he could form a romantic relationship. Asuka and Mari are both 14 years his senior and it's not just any old 14 years they have lived through. 14 years of hellish post-apocalypse and br...

To be honest i had some difficulty appreciating the themes and mistakenly felt the main purpose of the film was establishing a surrealistically terrifying and captivating setting. Never thought about faith being one of the film's themes. I must admit I didn't catch the faith themes as solid...

I stumbled upon Angel's Egg the other day and fell totally in love with it. So surreal and heavy with atmosphere and intertwining themes of despair and loss of faith. Defiantly not a film for everyone but it struck a strong note with me

I remember watching part 1 of this quite a while ago and thinking Demolition D was really on point. Now that part 2 is out I find myself still agreeing with most of what he says. I do enjoy Rebuild but there is the distinct feeling that there is a layer of depth missing when compared to NGE and this...
