EOE was probably THE least "mainstream" incarnation of evangelion, yet it is held in much higher regard than Q is, so that argument is invalid. Really? Could you point me to some fan reviews of EoE by the general Anime populace and perhaps some 3.0 fan reviews as well? Because, even thoug...

Because Shinji is not an utilitarian and heartless enough to do it. He refused to attack Asuka even when Bardiel was chocking him, so why would he kill her if she was defensless? Yeah, what ElMarachi said. As for the answer of this topic, well, I would say yes. It would seem like 3.0 is mostly not ...

So do armored tanks. I'm not saying people don't use them, but that's certainly not the primary focus of the use of that tank. That same interpretation works for ReiQ, but in reverse. Her Unit isn't shielding her identity from the world, it's shielding her identity from herself....

Jinroh, ElMariachi, all of this: ...is what a lot of people have been saying "all along". I'd go so far as to say it's probably the most common interpretation of events, or at least certainly the default, and, from what I've seen, the major reason people disagree with it is be...

I don't understand why you keep asking about this. The problem is not that the Wille crew has emotions (as most human beings do). The problem is that . . . well, Charsi already laid out out quite nicely on past seven, so go read his posts and quit bugging me about this. Okay, now I see ...

@Bagheera, I would like a clear answer, just so I can understand you and see your point of view. Okay, since it's not about the fact that the Willie crewman's emotions could be the reason why they treat Shinji this way, as you say it's not about the emotions. So what is it about? Is it f...

This. After all, 14-year-old boys have a pretty consistent track record of surviving in space for an extra 14 years without food, water, or even while possibly not having a human body and no told method of regaining said human body. Wait.... :chinscratch: It still begs the question as, if Willie di...

Well, not quite. The problem is that none of the snippets of conversation you offer here conclusively say the things you seem to think they do. (snip) What Azathoth said. Isn't that kind of the point? I wish you responded to my previous posts about the emotions of Willie. Because like I...

Assuming it just happened to be lying around, sure. But then you're drifting into coincidence territory, which is not the best argument to be made here. Well, having it lying around is not really hurting anything either. Also, I'm curious as to what you make of my previous posts about how W...

The government probably did try to stop them. Nerv HQ is shot to fuck, and it's not just because Shinji shit out the new world on top of it. When Shinji goes outside with Kaworu you can see the wall they're standing against has been bombarded at some point, and I'm pretty sure that wall...

Not all of them. And again, this is inconsistent with prior portrayals. 3I might have been bad, but 2I didn't make people forget all reason and common sense so I don't see why 3I would. It is definitely true that not all smart people don't let their emotions get in the way of their inte...

It doesn't matter if it happened last month, there's no reason to have the collar once Kaworu is no longer on the payroll. Like, none. Explaining why they'd still have it requires an awful lot of mental gymnastics, whereas assuming they planned to get Shinji out fits rather nicely with ...

@Bagheera, About the collar thing, it can't be a stretch to say that Kaworu was working with Nerv before Q right? We don't know what happened during those 14 years, we can only theorize. It is possible that the split between Nerv and Willie didn't happen immediately after the end of 2.22...

I can buy Misato not knowing what the Evas are but Ritsuko knows damn well exactly what they do, she says straight up that he's initiating the apocalypse. Well yes, Ritsuko did indeed knew that Shinji initiated the apocalypse, but she didn't HOW he did it, so in hind sight she had no idea S...

Well, Anno also said that it would take Evangelion to paths never seen before, so far he provided with Q, but if it's to give us another EoE, then why bother to create a new setting to begin with? He said in an interview that he don't feel satisfaction in an ending where everything is destr...

Not really any evidence, just plain logic : she said she want to kill him, but once everything is said and done she apparently ran to his entry plug to check on him and instead of letting him rot on the spot, took him with her, even if in his catatonic state he's a burden that diminish her chan...

Yep, she also wants to kill him in the country of the cheese and wine! Another explanation would be that she was so frenzied by the fight that she said that line without really thinking it, like when Shinji said that he "didn't cared about the world" when curb-stomping Zeruel. I made ...

Damn, was hoping that the translators wouldn't translate Asuka's line to wanting to kill Shinji. It is completely wrong, and takes the entire context of what happens later, when Asuka pulls Shinji out of the plug. She could have just left him to die. But then again you could make the excuse ...

I think it's clearly implied in 3.0 that whatever happened that left the world that lifeless red rock was not planned by anyone, be it Gendo or SEELE. Fuyutsuki is still following Gendo because since the beginning he seems to be far more implicated than in NGE, and after everything they have do...

Yes, Kozo said that in 1.0, as well as he has been perfectly clear to Shinji that someone erased his memories of the Contact Experiment. But I think that any shenanigans with his brain stopped with that memory swap : like you said, if it's revealed that most of Shinji's action through the t...
