well, like star trek, it had to explain some of its plot by referencing some of the original series, so maybe the nme will do the same with nge. or kaworu and Shinji met before in the nme, and it'll be explained in the "meeting of the selected children."

i should've specified, even though there's only one scene where 01 rejects the dummy plug, but i'm talking about the zeruel scene right before Shinji shows up.

why doesn't zeruel continue onto central dogma when 01 runs out of power? 01 seemed to be done, so why waste more time with it?
