It died, man. It died HARD.

Ambition in and of itself isn't evil, but compelling villains will couple ambition with being total heartless pricks in order to realize their ambitions. So naturally, anime tends to display that.

Final Fantasy 8 is not better than any Final Fantasy. It's better than Final Fantasy X, which is the worst RPG ever made. Leave it to Brik to post the most fail post of the internet. But seriously, VIII isn't all bad. Worst "plot twist" ever? Yes. Laughably shallow supporting cast...

True. Don't get me wrong, I think Sony's been dropping the ball pretty hard in regards to exclusives, but I'm really hoping the new MGS is mult-plat... otherwise I am guaranteed to get a 360. I love MGS too much not to play it!

^If you're refferring to MGS as one of the ones lost, Sony never had rights to MGS. And if you're referring to Final Fantasy as the other one Sony lost, Sony never had rights to FF either. Both SE and Konami were free to publish their games as they saw fit. That's why FF IX was on the 36...

Oh, that's easy.

Anime is outrageously stylish.

And to me, the more stylish the better :)

Good stories help too.

There is as of yet no word on its exclusivity to the 360, which Microsoft has a history of parading around when it secures an exclusive, but it is suspicious that it's been announced during MS's conference.

Full Metal Panic. I could never understand why everyone seemed to like this show. I so totally almost dropped Lain as well. Boring show to say the least, yet for some stupid reason I kept watching it :\ There was another one... hold on. Nope, can't remember. Anyway, it was about how in the futur...

Zeak, you have my sympathies. I can't offer truly meaningful words of comfort as we don't know eachother very well, but I can say that I'm truly sorry to hear about your ordeal. That is a nightmare. Let me also say I really wish that the US troops you met had not acted as they did. As a ...

But yeah, for me, Star Trek is waaaaaaay at the top. Inglorious Basterds is a distant second. I'm keeping my ear to the ground for any others but so far nothing's really grabbed my interest.

Some of the early ones written by real authors like Vonda McIntyre or Alan Dean Foster would qualify. I should add Zahn to that list, too. The rest are just fan-fiction gone terribly wrong. Boy ain't that the truth... I read a few more recently, and dang if they aren't bad. The only good on...

H. G. Wells' The War of the Worlds. After that it was primarily SW, ST or Aliens novels, if those count.

I also remember reading Red Planet, because of the Fox series :D I remember the book being a lot better.

Lost in Translation. I just hated it. Boring, uneventful, "slice-of-life" which all the critics seem so fond of for some reason. If a movie with Scarlett Johansson can't keep my attention, then it is a bad movie. Watchmen, at least so far as comapring how good I thought it was to how g...

Saying something like this is pretty much the equivalent of internet suicide, but I find Colbert in general to be highly overrated. Worth a laugh occasionally but certainly not worthy of such a rabid following. But the book title is pretty clever, and I chuckled when I read the back. Chinese bootleg...
