The child Asuka is 100% the Asuka we've followed in the films. It's the only thing that makes narrative sense.

Original Asuka is more of a plot device, I'm sure she'll forever be a mystery, I'd guess that at most we'll get bits of info in an artbook.

That's what Animator Expo implied to me, but right now I'm not sure what's next for khara regarding anime. I really, really hope they can simultaneously do w/e Tsurumaki does and a younger staff project. As for Anno, I think his filmography needs an original animated film. One (final?) masterpiece. ...

Looking at those images I noticed the storyboard pages and god I wish we get a storyboard book sooner rather than later.

I posted about this elsewhere on the site, bit I really don't thini the ending scene is meant to be read literally. It's about Anno and the audience moving on, with the rest of the Eva cast (other than protag Shinji and newish character Mari) leaving the frame on a train.

Seems the Shin Eva sacrifice scene almost included Eva-04.

End of Eva is the best film I've ever seen, so yes.

Since I've seen some Kurosawa comparisons, I don't think Seven Samurai or Rashomon are as good as Eoe.
I don't get why the intended audience would matter either.

I think Kamen Rider is definitely more niche.
Even in Japan it seems. 2 billion yen box office is where it will probably end up, that's not even half of what Ultraman did. Still a lot, it might end up in the top 10 of the year, but I imagine it was expensive to make too.
