Because Pokemon, despite being an entry level JRPG, is actually fairly well designed (the first ones at least). CoM is probably the most hideously repetitive dungeon crawler I've ever seen.

How can anyone possibly like Children of Mana? Anyway, JRPGs that come to mind straight away would be Earthbound, Final Fantasy VI, Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story. You might want to skip that last one if you don't like micro-management. As for western RPGs, the ones I've enjoyed mos...
