Thanks CH, this has all been helpful... yeah, Otomo definatelly could have gone in a different direction with Steamboy - the film was not very intricate plot-wise. Ah well. I think that it may be a good thing for movies to have a limited budget.

It would be nice to have a bit more money/time spent on making the bloodflow smoother (ex: blood skipping over nerv symbol, Misato's blood changing from maroon to bright red in one frame).
