Re: The Disgusting Irresponsibility of Car Chase Scenes

Note that while I'm using my loathing for the car chase scene as a launch point, since thinking about it prompted me to make the thread in the first place, pretty much any cinematic set pieces that involve huge, unthinking, and/or unjustifiable amounts of collateral damage are perfectly relevant an...

Same here, but at least I learned that debuggers are a big deal for game developers.

Re: Dat Banner, Tho

Why are the notes in english? It should be written in Japanese, and don't tell me this is from an english class because that looks too advanced for a Japanese 8th grader. Joke.

Love the banner, can't wait for Maya.

Re: Castlevania - all around discussion

Rondo was a ton of fun, even though it's not my preferred style of 'vania. It proved to be the exception to the rule. Its connection to SotN is why I even gave it a chance, but its action gameplay is refined and precise in a way that the Igavanias' aren't. Yeah, I would even put it above some of th...

Re: Castlevania - all around discussion

It's been a while, but I do remember backtracking in Ecclesia to photograph some creatures for a mission, I thought that was an interesting quest. Regarding resources, I don't remember them depleting too fast, at least not enough to affect my experience since it was my favorite Castlevania game. I t...

Re: Have you ever just stopped watching anime?

My interests are kind of seasonal, I'll get into something and then after some time abandon it for long periods of time only to come back later. I'm currently in a hiatus as far as watching anime goes, in the last two years I only watched a few shows. Maybe I'll come back this year, maybe.

Re: Castlevania - all around discussion

Both Dawn and Ecclesia are great games but I'd recommend playing Dawn first since it has a more familiar setting. Once you experience the novelty of Order of Ecclesia going back to Dawn of Sorrow might seem like a step down.

Re: Currently playing 4: Guns of the Patriots

I hate to say, but I think there's something wrong with my game. It won't let me deal with a boss that the FAQs and a playthrough video on youtube says that I can do. It's no longer fun. I know you beat him already but here's a tip, sometimes you get stuck in video games. Old games especially aren'...

Re: Star Wars

Even after having seen it a second time I still cannot make sense of Rey's Force vision. I don't think those were suppressed memories, but Ren's interest in her suggests otherwise. But everything else we know about her doesn't jibe with that at all. I've seen theories about the visions being of bot...

I'm using Chrome and it's working fine. Thanks a lot! I know it's a minor improvement but having the whole banner as a "home button" of sorts is quite practical.

Re: Badly remembered pop culture

I found it! I've been trying to identify a game I had back in my SNES days for a long time now, a couple of years probably, not all the time obviously, but whenever I came upon something about old games or the like I'd remember that game I couldn't remember and spent some time looking for it online....

Re: Star Wars

I'm mildly annoyed with Rey's rapidly developing force powers as well, but I'm willing to forgive that due to the general atmosphere of the movie. For those more hungry for an explanation, consider the following. When Kylo Ren attempted to get in Rey's head she managed to get in his...

Also, the claims of "Girl Power" still seems premature. This is still a galaxy far, far away where only young, fit, dark-haired white women can grace the screens. Lupita Wyong'o, one of the most beautiful & talented young actresses alive - someone who really hasn't been on screen sinc...

That wasn't the final face off of the movie, it wasn't even a face off to begin with.
