I have to state again that just because a show uses a religion's iconography doesn't mean it's an endorsement of the show's beliefs or has any commentary on said religion. Look at Avatar the Last Airbender. From what I understand of the show, the protagonist's character is influe...

This is hilarious! I would love to hear the context for this picture.

I always love when Gendou acts goofy in spinoffs.

I can see that. Then I assume the scene where "Zeijaku na, jiga kyoukai" was moved to Episode 22, right?

I wonder what happened to "Kyomou e no, izon" though.

Differences between versions of "Death"

I saw here that there have been multiple versions of Death, namely that in the original there were two songs not present in later releases. I just checked on a random stream and I saw that they were indeed not present. Can anyone expand on what was changed from the original release?

True dat, it even comes with its own form of liver damage . And hey, the f*ck do we care? We can rebuild that sh*t out of scratch now. EDIT: Ah, his post changed. Well everything in moderation. Personally I am still looking for a psychadelics dealer at school. I am not very successful, probably bec...

Any interest in Evangelion sheet music?

I'm feeling pretty inspired, so I'm thinking that one of these days, I'm going to hop on over the music library of my campus and whip up a couple of pages of sheet music. Can't promise that they will be any good or that they will be done any time soon. I have pretty much every major ...

I dunno. I feel a lot of pressure to prove to myself that I can drink. To no one in particular. The last party I was at, I ended up drinking two shots of whiskey right after each other. Then I helped myself to three cups of punch. But I think there was more than one shot of vodka in each of the drin...

Oh no, it was a random video on youtube.

I think there are multiple Spanish dubs.

Watching Eva in other languages

Have you ever watched Evangelion in a language other than the original Japanese or the common English dub?

Right now, I'm watching the Spanish version (not sure if it's Latino or Catalan or whatever) and Rei sounds like a middle aged woman. Hilarious.

You know, I could try to make a work with Muslim themes. I have a couple of Muslim friends and the internet, and I've even read the Quran from cover to cover (but probably not as attentively as I should have). But even with my experiences with Islam as someone living in America, I still ...

I think what definitely puts Evangelion away from being a true religious allegory is that it completely neglects the central tenet of Christianity, that is God incarnated himself in the form of a human figure for the sake of humans out of love and that belief in this is required to be saved. I'v...

Anyone not like beer?

I don't really get why Misato and Ornette are all over beer. It's pretty bland or even worse bland. I've tried Heineken and it was ok, but I don't think I could drink a bottle of it, much less get drunk on it. I hope in a couple of years, I will finally appreciate it, because I want ...

Look at Dream's comment above. The angels are also "fighting and putting their entire will into their survival and right to exist". Each is, in fact, an entire race attempting to do so. They simply attack with no effort at communication, at least a first... but humanity also just atta...
