I don't mind the mystic plot stuff, but how many times do they have to say stuff like "dummy plug", "sync ratio", "the beast" etc. And, for example, the way Ritsuko is explaining away the 3rd Impact at the end.

Ah, yes. Paid extra attention and that scene was indeed there. Don't know why I was blanking on it the last time.

I think Mari is damn awesome. The battle at the very beginning of 2.0 was one of the highlights for me. I was taken aback at first, because she didn't seem to be effed up and as the film continued I started liking her even more. A fine addition to the team imo.

After the 2nd viewing there is something in 2.0 that annoyed me. Too much technobabble. I mean that whenever something is going on with the Evas there's a running commentary by Ritsuko and her team. It was present in the series as well, yes, but for one movie there was too much of it. Not really...

Loving it. After having heard all the complaints concerning 2.0 I wa a bit cautious, but now that I've actually seen it I'm rather confident that if nothing else, Rebuild is going to match NGE (not trying to start up another NGE vs Rebuild discussion, don't worry). The beginning ...

Erm, Asuka was clearly alive (being well is another thing >_> ) after the battle. :| We hear her scream just before Shinji yells the Dummy System to stop. And afterwards, Ritsuko & Maya are watching her under surveillance in that special observation room: Ritsuko: The cellular erosion h...

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Did you see any other Eva fans there or anime fans in general and get their thoughts on it? (Liked, disliked, didn't care either way?) The room was half empty and it sure didn't look like any of the people there had even a clue about anything Eva. I didn...

Well, I didn't have any problems with the pacing, thought it was actually much more enjoyable than 1.0. As 1.0 was very faithful to the series, some scenes felt like going through the motions while others seemed rushed. Luckily, they changed up 2.0 just enough so that it felt new & fresh, I ...

Wouldn't it be excessively hard to make the flat drawn parts of animation into 3D without making it look like a stereogram? With CG, you kind of get the 3D for free, but the parts that aren't (like all the people), how does that work? Was thinking the same thing. I'd imagine the...

Yes. And more precisely, Tartu (which is the second biggest "city" - the country has a population of 1.4 million so in reality it's more like a small town heh).

Woohoo, both 1.0 & 2.0 are showing in cinemas (at least where I live) next week as part of a Japanese Anime Film Festival. And it says that it's in English without Estonian translation. So, do they mean in English as in "with English subtitles"? Because surely there can'...
