Well, for me it depends on what I watched first and what I'm use to. When I think of Shinji, I hear Spike, same with Asuka and Tiffany, and so on. Those voices are part of their characters, for me at least; and that isn't to say I dislike subs - of course not, I watch most other anime with s...

I honestly can't stand humidity and extreme heat - Summer is my least favorite season, and I know Japan gets quite humid in the summer. So that's a big no-no for me. I'd probably prefer to go when it's snowy actually, because I want to visit Tokyo and Sapporo especially, and I hear t...

I'm highly interested in Japan and it's culture, and have been studying said culture and language for quite some time now. Whether I'd want to live there or not, I'm not sure, because although there are aspects of Japan I adore; there are others that aren't to my fancy whatsoever...

I think the Eva fanbase is diverse because the anime itself is diverse, it panders to the masses what the giant robot fighting, but it's philosophical and esoteric themes also warrant more analyses; and that attracts intellectuals to the anime too. When it comes to those suffering with depressio...

American Gods

So far, so good, it's quite interesting and the characters have distinct personalities - which I like. Really curious to see what twists and turns it'll take.

Jacob's Ladder

Terrific film, quite moving and yet utterly disturbing. Never has a non-horror film frightened me so much; the ending was very well done too.

Re: The Evangelion of Books

Kafka's The Metamorphosis explores similar themes to Evangelion, at least from my interpretation. Dante's Inferno is quite allegorical in a similar vein as Eva; I would suggest these.

I notice that, aside from people disliking the 'action arc' (which is probably more systematic of red/blue leanings than anything else), the individual episodes that people tend to dislike are 7, 13, 14 and my own suggestion of 21... which, incidentally, are all episodes that aren&#...

I liked Frozen, very much so, but at the same time I found that it still relied on the traditional Disney trappings that other princess films relied on. It was trying something new, but it didn't push it far enough; for my taste at least.

Other than that amazing visuals and good songs.

I've seen the 2002 one which was totally mediocre, I was referring to the 2013 one; I've already read some of the mixed reactions, so I'm curious to see it.

Gendo is quite sexy, totally my type. Yes, I have a thing for crazy older men. Anyway, I am a gay man, wether that has any connection to me being an Evangelion fan, well, it's doubtful. I recently recommended Evangelion at another forum which is almost exclusively gay men who fall into my age br...

Carrie

Classic horror film, absolutely entertaining from start to end, and that ending is absolutely iconic. Going to see the remake soon too.

Does Evangelion make me depressed? To be honest I don't see how it can make anyone depressed, maybe sad, reflective, or melancholy, but depressed is too strong of a word. I'm someone who has had to cope with depression, and several other disorders for many years and still am (although th...

Really touching song, needed this song today. A beautiful blend of trip hop, electronica and pure pop melodies.

It's very much true that both sexes can be equally depraved. I've had females tell me they want to sleep with me despite knowing that I was gay and had a boyfriend (at the time), it was hugely offensive to me; unlike when other gay guys use to ask me out when they knew I was already ...

Been in a Disney phase lately, if I had to rank my top five Disney animated films it'd be: 1. Fantasia 2. Beauty and the Beast 3. Alice in Wonderland 4. The Hunchback of Notre Dame. 5. The Little Mermaid (mainly for the nostalgia, was my favorite film when I was a young kid). I've al...

What's happening to the Gays in Russia is all kinds of disturbing. Makes me thankful I was born in a country where I'm "allowed" to be myself. I was reading how some bigots are going out of their way to lure gays so they can horrifically torment them; and personally I feel a lot of...
