Here's a short manga by Yagisaka @ pixiv, showing post-Final events. Shinji has reconciled with Misato and reunites with an aged Kaji. From what little I can tell, Kaji and Misato have had a kid or kids together, but they're not actually shown. (I hope this is what's going on... I&#...

Î don't think Asuka is the sort of character that dies. Her "life" association from the original is not really present in Rebuild (other than maybe the "animals eat other animals!" speech) but you know, Anno needs her there to write the dialogues in between all those...

A live action film set long after EoE. Think the cut live-action sequence of EoE (except Shinji exists in this one) or Anno's live-action work.

No Evas or angels, no big sci-fi concepts. Just characters and their relationships and their problems.

Fourth there's of course the 18+ hag deal that probably is important part. I don't think it's simply a matter to pandering for fans - I think the creators themselves are pretty uncomfortable and weirded by the idea. It's simply a matter of habituation and the general youth glorifyin...

But anyway, they wanted to use a music symbol, I'm not arguing that, but what I'm saying is they couldn't have left out the colon symbol they have been using for all the films, it would've been inconsistent and it would not have provided a separation of the subtitle from the title. ...

But you'd think Anno would be aware that the position of the colon would mean that any musically minded person would immediately read the title as 'end repeat'.

Why can't it be both?

Last minute Shinji/Rei romantic ending? You Can Redo!

The literal LCL Sea. But I imagine the latter actually probably functions a bit like Shinji's experience of the former, only without the luxury of angel guides.

I think of the LCL sea as a realm of introspection where the concept of time doesn't really exist, and one can grapple with realities of their existence eternally until they come to some kind of resolution to return.

Well...it works for me! The leaving-you-hanging is deliberate, I feel. The uncertainty of the future is something Shinji has to come to terms with as a character. Going "and then they killed each other forever" or "and then they lived happily ever after and had a billion children"...
