If that's the case, then I don't believe Elfen Lied contains much material which is there solely to "appease the fans".

The thing is, I don't veiw the nudity in Elfen Lied as fan service. Sure, there a few scenes that are fan service, but those are few and far between.

The artist's feelings towards their own work does not affect the works beauty. Or, as the more internet savvy among us would put it - Rei > ALL, DEAL WITH IT!
