The Evangelion arms remind me of Ideon, in praticular the size and length of the shoulders.

In my personal opinion, I think Evangelion had all the makings to be a good action oriented show, considering it would be quite difficult to carry over Evangelion's mental theme to a live action movie without dropping. I personally feel the live action movie should just go with an action oriente...
