Brainman: Just a head's up, the term "Euro" in Eva 2.0 refers to the European Union and/or its Nerv branch. It would be more natural in English to say "Europeans", "EU", or "3rd Branch". Yeah I figured, but it's what they called it in the dub. Just us...

If they named them this time... But I think Samael would have to be a more significant one. Like the Space God or something.

Ungrounded Speculation: -First half of the film deals with Nerv takeover, change of management, and the aftermath of 2.0. -Introduces some secondary characters/generals from Euro, America, etc (they're all bozos). -Interrogation scenes of Nerv staff and Mari. Some flashbacks maybe. Delve...

That's a pretty low bar for friendship.

And it seemed like Shinji refused because he was against killing in general. Not that it was specifically Asuka.

^ It's really more about how he acted after the Bardiel incident than during. It may be a problem in the movie not conveying the message properly, but it seemed to me like Shinji was more upset that Gendo compromised his innocence rather than Shinji showing any actual concern for Asuka. He doesn...

I'd bet "kimochi warui" has lost none of the context intended for the original line and has mostly to do with Shinji breaking fown like he does. Just because she feels some compassion/sympathy for the guy doesn't mean her personality (or feelings toward Shinji) have change...

Well, regarding Mark 6, I'm curious as to what distinguishes a "true" Evangelion from a regular one. I mean, if Unit 01 was a phony but was still able to do what it did at the end of 2.0, what can a legitimate Evangelion do?

You could do the hand puppet story without using a flashback though. Like maybe someone tries to take it away or comments on it and she flips the f*** out. With this I think it would be better to provide enough pieces to get the picture without overselling the case.

^ Well, really by nature, Asuka wouldn't win that fight. But I don't think that should be her fight. Kawrou should be Shinji's responsibility. The only way it would be interesting to me is if Asuka killed him and Shinji hates her for it. Or vise versa I guess. But even that's kind of...

And then he'll open a door and an old guy in a chair will say "You are the eventuality of an anomaly inherent in the code, vis-a-vis, some of the things you will understand and some of them you will not. Ergo, you're next question, while the most pertinent, is also the most irrelevant.&...

^ Well, and to me her character isn't any meaner than, say, Misty from Pokemon or the one girl from the Tale of Two Robots segment in Robot Carnival. So I don't get the point of this argument in the first damn place. Yeah, she's bitchy, but not uniquely so (until it gets to the later...

Re: ARRGh me DUMKOPHS! BE]

You mean like what they did in End of Evangelion? :ehh: I'm actually glad you brought that up. Because it's really the opposite of what I'm talking about. To help clarifiy, this is the kind of setup I'm referring to: Scene: -Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star sees some little girl...

Using a female character's tragedy to motivate a central male character towards some sort of action is the kind of banal bs I hope this steers clear of.

^ I agree somewhat, but I believe 3.0 deserves its fair shot. I think they're really trying with this project. It's just that the nature of what it is (four movies/compression of a television series) kind of puts limits on what it can do character wise (you're beating a dog b...

I suppose this should go here. A few shots I made of the screening. http://i.imgur.com/bT2WU.png This seems like a shot of the vehicle that got Asuka into space. You can see between the two main shapes there's something in the middle resembling the shield thing on Unit 02's back seen at an a...

You wouldn't necessarily need Asuka for that. Saving her for later just to shelve her after a brief space battle sounds like a bunch of mumbo-jumbo trash to me.

^ Yeah, it's very deliberate. If it were the case that Asuka's role is very small in 3.0, then it's an intentional bait and switch with the marketing. Which, yeah I mean it's Anno, so anything's possible. But even so, not being Japanese means I'm not as captive an audience fo...
