Bastion's soundtrack was just amazing, one of the best. It really brought the entire game together providing such an emotional background to the dreamy visuals and stellar narration. It nailed everything from the upbeat action to the melancholic story moments. One of my favorite tracks: http://w...

GTA was never really my kind of game. I mean I remember having fun with San Andreas back in the day dicking around the city and shooting shit up but I could never really get into the story and the gameplay was only passable, especially in terms of the driving which was always really sloppy and no ma...

I must say I do prefer the first FMA to Brotherhood. I liked the dark tone and never really had a problem with the ending of the series or the movie, in fact I quite enjoyed them both. Of course that was back in like 2005 so whatever flaws it had have probably faded with time whereas I watched Broth...

Mmmmmm....Did they mention that it was automated only program? Maybe it had manual one. They may have but from what I recall and what ElMariachi said Misato's comment about Zeruel taking on Eva-00's signature and how CD will not self destruct implies that there isn't. However I don'...

That was in NGE, in Rebuild Misato explicitly said Zeruel hiding his signature behind EVA-00 means that CD won't self-destruct, meaning that they don't have any manual way to do it. Ah yes, my bad. Seems a pretty big design flaw to not have the ability to manually self destruct if everythin...

I actually wonder at times whether or not Ritsuko or Misato had thought of self-destructing Terminal Dogma - As big Z is going down there, that would seem to me the only option left had Shinji not came through. And they would've had to do it before Big Z came into the command center or else eve...

Solid third part. His focus on religious aspects of NGE is a bit contentious but I agree with the style over substance claims. Don't like the talk of the sequel theory though and for me it being true wouldn't do a thing to make me less unimpressed with the character development in Rebuild. O...

Now I get the feeling that most of us is saying the same thing, that responsibility is at best no ones because there wasn't any way to predict what would happen, and at worst shared between everyone, only that we're all saying it in a different manner(and that I blured everything by goi...

it seems from Shinji's POV that Misato is punishing him for having done exactly that, acting upon his own wishes, like he wished this fucked up situation to happen. From Shinji's point of view I'm sure there are all sorts of mixed messages flying around. 14 years have passed of which he...

^I suppose it wouldn't be that surprising if a confrontation occurred between Shinji and Gendo before Final is finished especially due to as you said Gendo being more traditionally antagonistic this time around. However this being Eva I think it quite possible that again the father son confronta...

No, she wanted him to find a personal reason for piloting, any one, how could she want him to fully commit to saving the world when even her don't give a shit about saving the world, by her own admission! She can't want him to act for the right reason because herself is in NERV for the wron...

Pretty much what FreakyFilm said. Watching tragedy for many is about the catharsis, the purging of emotion, not the enjoyment of watching people suffer. Eva is at it's heart I believe a tragedy and like other great tragedies I think that people do not find enjoyment from the suffering of the cha...

That was a miserable one. Great but utterly depressing. It's the kind of show that I wouldn't watch twice no matter how good.

I had a Final dream the other night that left me feeling rather disappointed. It began with a lot of action, explosions and nonsensical technobabble which I can't recall all that well. At the climatic moment of the final battle when everything had come to a head and the fate of the world hung in...

Well Nerv used Shinji and friends because they didn't have much choice. They probably would have loved to use willing capable adults but this being Eva they didn't have the luxury and I seem to remember Misato commenting how terrible it was to be using children to fight their battles. Wille ...

Not sure I'd say that Eva endorses screwing up children for ones own grand designs. NGE at least seemed pretty clear that what Seele and Nerv put Shinji, Asuka and Rei through was a pretty shitty thing to do. What Rebuild's conclusion is I'm not sure at this point but I doubt it will be ...

Well I was being a bit flippant but you're right, dying would be far too easy a way out for poor Shinji. Also probably wouldn't go over that well with quite a few viewers unless it was near or at the end.

I can't imagine Final will come and go without Shinji getting back into Unit 1 at some point to hash out the whole mother's soul is trapped in Unit 1/end of the world plots/Rei's a clone deal with his mother in addition to doing something fairly pivotal in the final throwdown with Neo-Ne...

Has anyone considered that Mari may have been conceived as a test tube baby? I'm pretty sure I've seen that idea batted around somewhere before. As to it being true? Who knows? It's not like we actually know anything much about her at this point especially in terms of her past so I supp...
