I thought it was a good film. Fun, with a marvelous visual style. The only thing I can hold against it is that the acting sometimes is a bit on the weak side, but other than that, an amazing film to see in theaters. I really don't get all the hate.

^Yeah, but if you rely on visuals to tell a story, good luck getting people interested in the actual movie. Wow, then I guess radio shows are the best storytelling medium. (What I mean to say is that if a film is telling its story through visuals only then bravo, because its truly using the fil...

Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-chan-I nearly turned it off in the first couple of minutes, but it grew on me near instantly. Disgusting, hilarious and oddly charming and inventive. I just finished the first season of Higurashi no naku koro ni and loved it, now I'm four episodes into the second season a...

I'm about halfway through the book and all I can say is that it is damn awesome. Miyazaki's genius and depth of personality and thought is astonishing. He really propably is one of a kind in the industry. Mamoru Oshii may be intelligent but as personality unpleasant and sour. Miyazaki is si...

For those of you who don't know, the show is pretty much available right now from imdb/hulu:

I just watched the first episode at random and I'm hooked again.

Very funny stuff. But honestly, I don't think I've seen any cosplayer get Rei's blue hair the right shade of blue. But that only adds to the humor in the video.

This might be slightly off topic, so if it's too out there I'm sorry. This thread reminded me of a possible parallel between EoE and 2.0. Anyone else think that Asuka's "angel" eva strangeling Shinji may have been an intentional reference to this scene? Or am I just reading to...

I knew or though that or had been told that: 1. It was a series about humanity going against its creator (or God) 2. It ended in the Apocalypse 3. I remember friends were watching episode 5 or 6 in their laptops one time 4. I had heard "Komm Susser Tod" after a friend kept singing ...

So, after finishing the second season, I cannot declare it as bad but definitely a disappointment compared to the first season. It suffers from the same problem as another Kyoto show, K-On, where the second season just pretty much delves into casual nonsense and ignores any real possible character o...

I just finished reading the first volume and all I can say is that it was a fun read. It's not the series, but the action is pretty cool and the story was very interesting. It's sad to hear that it doesn't get better afterwards, but the contrary but I'll continue reading anyway.

I just saw Diebuster and although it doesn't quite have the same emotional heights as its predecessor, it is a great work all on its own. It left me wanting more. The animation was amazng, characters were fascinating and it was full of intrigue. Perhaps a bit too action centered for my taste, bu...

Shane Black as director? A bit of an odd choice, but if it calls his attention, let him have it. He has earned it.

I think this has a huge chance of being good. I've not read the manga but I greatly enjoyed the anime, but there is still A LOT of room of improvement for it.

I'm very interested in this story. However, do you think I should read the manga or the novel or watch the anime first?
