Mine was during the whole final... All the more when "From Beethoven 9" kicks in till "Gods Gift". The SFX there are really heavy while the gorgeous soundtrack is only fainting attachment in the background. This, a thousand times this. This scene really is perfect for testing.

Has there been any kind of consensus as to which version (if any) has the best audio? It seems like everyone's been having this issue, so couldn't it be that this is the way Anno and Co. wanted the movie to sound? No. The sound just is mixed in a way that makes the music way too qui...

DemonSpade: I can do the polishing part myself, and combine UTW's improvements with the github translation, while cross-referencing with the Japanese script. It might take a while, but the results should be good! Thanks for volunteering. If you plan on sticking around the forum for a while, I&#...

When Asuka fires her way into the main engine to insert the igniter she's actually trying to reach Unit 01 right? I'm at work at the moment so I can't photo drop but she inserts the igniter into a very fleshy looking object. I believe that's Unit 01's upper chest, free of bindin...

Volunteering, although I'm not sure if I'm the right person to do this: I could edit UTW's .ass file, as it has the perfect timing the github file lacks, and then upload it for you. Just tell me what needs to be changed, obvious mistakes and awkward wordings aside. "Best of two worl...

That, or I wouldn't be surprised if Gendo makes it a priority to kill Asuka, what with the death of the final angel will release some sort of evil. Shinji's with WILLE now, so Gendo can't force him to. Phew. Also, when the first batch of fake spoilers hit and it said that Shinji and Kaw...

You like the film? You know, people like lots of different things. Not every one of them is good. Why should I respect your positive opinion in a topic where users supposed to be posting their criticism? Where people argue over a fiction? Are we on one of those forums for pregnants? Why SHOULD I re...

It looks like a giant goblet to me. Which would fit Anno's fetish for religious imagery.

Thanks man. this is also a good idea. I do have 5.1 but at this point im not sure what would be better. I really dont know a whole lot about sound systems someone installed my surround for me. Wondering about this, too. I'll probably hook up my PC to my TV tomorrow, which has a 5.1 surround sys...

Yes. International deliveries will take much longer, as usual. Oh well. I'm so hyped for the moment the raw arrives... it's 4:06AM here in Germany, but there's no way I'm gonna sleep now.

No real point in that. A few hours difference won't matter after waiting so long, especially when you should have waited a lot longer. Also this place is much too civilized to venture to the lower levels. Nice way of admitting you don't have a clue what you're talking about, mate. Also,...

The close up of Shinji's face; "What have I done?" Those couple frames are so "raw" and powerful, and it was obviously done so as an artistic choice, so I don't know why they're smoothing it up for 3.33. Had mad EOTV vibes, yo. Bummer... I don't see any differenc...

I don't really know where to put this, but someone brought up the Whore of Babylon (as in the book Revelation) somewhere when discussing 01's color scheme during its Awakening. So I went and read most of Revelation and it also talks about horns: [3] So he carried me away in the spiri...

I just calculated that the time elapsed between the theater release and the Japanese BD/DVD release will have been 5 months 7 days. That's a bit more than half the usual time for Japanese home video release! We should all be sending Anno thank you cards for this! I don't think that wa...

You're forgetting something. The traditional Jo-Ha-Kyu structure designates a fifth movie, meant to tie up the loose ends left by the fourth act. I hadn't read up on jo-Ha-Kyu beforehand, but this also makes an awful lot of sense: Takemoto describes the fourth act as a michiyuki (journe...
