The New Adventures of Hitler written by Grant Morrison in his early days with drawing by Steve Yeowell This one's pretty weird, if the title didn't clue you in. But it's also pretty funny. "I am no longer entirely certain about a career in painting." The story follows Hitler i...

Speaking of European comics, I read Hey, Wait... , You Can't Get There from Here and I Killed Adolf Hitler by Norwegian cartoonist Jason. They're very "European" in terms of overall style. There's this ever-present sense of melancholy pervading the books, which is how I imagine...

For all those who feel loveless, hurt by those majestic creatures known as women. By the one you thought was everything you've ever dreamed. Last year I listened to that and Komm Susser Tod quite a lot. Both ring true to me in some ways. I'd say EYED is more about what I assume about love a...

I caught up with Saga. The events of #18. Damn . BKV really knows how to keep the readers on the edge of their seats. The last page really gets me excited. The four month hiatus kinda sucks. I'm assuming #19 will be worth the wait though. I finally finished Superior after losing track of it afte...

Gendo could have been a pilot and he was there in his Eva when Yui sacrificed herself, unable to do anything. This only comes to mind because I thought about an image of him sitting despondent in the Eva, head hanging down while we look at him from an elevated angle, tears falling in silence. And th...

Forgot about Kyoko. I think she could be one of the pilots who died during the first Angel Attacks. Yeah, there would be others who also piloted Evangelions and fought the Angels. Asuka would be really mean to Shinji about it. "Are you stupid? My mother was the superior pilot! It was just becau...

This. In regards to some series I'm reading at the moment, I particularly like BKV's Saga , The Unwritten , Revival , Knights of Sidonia and The Wake . Big fan of Y: The Last Man here, too. I've read the first 12 issues of Saga and I'm liking it so far. It's definitely got what ...

^ Thank you, that was bugging me. ^_^ So is there anything that reaches, or at least tries to reach, the levels of skill and form that Watchmen reached? Maybe an obscure comic from a small, independent publisher? Let's talk about books that aren't by Moore, Morrison or Miller. Does anything ...

I don't think comparison Morrison to Moore is really all that meaningful. They travel to many of the same destinations, but the roads are different. Morrison's work is often a reply to Moore's, but Moore tends to reply to himself so they end up saying the same thing. No wonder Moore hat...

^ ... Brilliant. S-senpai is so far away. -o-; Did you get that on the first read or...? I read that Morrison plans on taking the Watchmen approach with Pax Americana, the first issue of Multiversity. It'll probably be great, but I doubt he could put as much thought into 1 issue that Moore put i...

^ So Watchmen is pretty much, from an objective point of view, the greatest achievement of the medium? I can't really disagree with that. There's a reason it's so renowned. I can definitely appreciate the level of skill that went into making it. Moore and Gibbons (mostly Moore, but G...

So the general consensus here seems to be that Miracleman is greater than Watchmen. I'm really excited to read it. I think I might wait for the reprints to get a collected edition though. I also ordered the Miller Daredevil Omnibus + Companion. Also got "I Shall Destroy All the Civilized Pl...
