Re: the problem with eva hentai doujinshi

If I'm reading Evangelion H manga, I don't particularly care about perfectly faithful adaptations of the characters. As long as there's enough of the character for me to believe it's the character-- and sometimes this can be just as much as how they look combined with a phrase or two-- I'll read it.

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot

The new trailer actually had a few moments that made me chuckle, which is more than I can say about the first one. However, the first one felt fairly uniform in how much I liked it. I was pretty lukewarm about it the whole way through. For this new international trailer, it started bouncing between ...

Re: Ghostbusters Reboot

I'm not a fan of the trailer at all. It doesn't make me want to go see the movie. However, sometimes films don't have good first trailers. I really do want to like this Ghostsbusters reboot, so I'll hold out for some more trailers.

Re: FML general thread [8]

I discovered today that my backup 1TB drive failed sometime in the last 10 days. I discovered this when I tried to perform my regular backup. I have another older 500GB drive that I've been saving just in case of an emergency like this. I plugged it in... to discover that lo, this drive had failed a...

Somebody still checks the ticket before you go into the theater. That's where the carding takes place, if any actually happens.

Theater attendants often don't look too closely at IDs. With how stupidly easy it is to get a fake and how much the theater people don't want to have to deal with an angry customer, they're likely to wave you right through into an R movie.

Re: Has growing up changed how you relate to Eva?

I first watched Evangelion when I was younger than any of the main characters. As I get older, the aspect of the show about having these fourteen-year old kids piloting these gigantic cyborgs stands out in much harsher relief to me, as well as everything they have to go through along the way.

Re: Do people still hate that last movie

I don't think people hate it now as much as they did when it came out, to answer your question. Some of those that did now really appreciate it, while all the people who were butthurt about it have mostly faded away.

Re: FML general thread [8]

Some dum-dum came onto my campus with a gun a few days ago, a couple buildings down from where I live. Nobody got shot (a guy did get pistol-whipped, but he let the dum-dum into the building in the first place so my sympathy for him is low ) but we did go into lockdown for two hours. School gives a ...

Re: Superhero Films & TV

Not that I read the comic but I'd hypothesize that Ryan Reynold's Deadpool is not made for the fans of the Deadpool comic book. Anecdotal evidence this may be, but after the premiere, people I knew wouldn't stop talking about just how faithful Deadpool was to the comics. It certainly adheres quite ...
