Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

It took me this long to realize that the inverted pyramid is actually a sliced off piece of the black moon, it even has the same dark color and lunar craters... oh wow, thank you, I didn't realize that either (thought its shape was a bit too weird to be black moon, but as a piece of it.....

Re: Adams, Children, and the Nature of the Cycle

Very fun read, has been a while Ive read such an extensive theory that made me go "that makes sense" several times. It would explain a lot, mainly debunking loop-theory and offering a proper explanation for Kaworu's weird talks about meeting Shinji again. For that alone this is extremely s...

Re: Alternative Take on the Adams and other popular aspects of Rebuild (Undergoing cleanup 27/07/2019)

All top notch stuff, enjoyed reading it. I think I have a little addition for So basically, Angels (excluding Lilith) = Fruit of Life = body Lilim = Fruit of Knowledge = brain Notice how Mari shoots Eva9's head clean off. Since this had no effect, Mari came to the conclusion it must have been an ada...

Re: Will Eva become dated, or will it become more relevant with time?

Its been almost 2 decades ago when i first saw it. That time was full of magical nostalgia, first game consoles i owned and movies/series i saw back then. Because of the nostalgia, ive revisitted a lot of my earlier interests. Most of it was a mistake. Ive been spoiled by modern media, cgi effects a...

Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

Ive read pretty much everything in the wiki, and what you said doesnt contradict what i said. I was talking about where the chamber is, not what it is. I know it stores souls. It is shown multiple times they can detect angels from afar (they only need to be close to confirm its "color") th...

Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

Thats the thing, in my opinion its meant to be left ambigious. With all the religious themes and all i think you cant simply explain everything just by entepreting a single sentence. Thats why i hate nge2, it turns mythology into actual science fiction. Like, what is the chamber of guf? Is it a lite...

Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

If all angels start out as embryoic like sandalphon, why didnt they put more effort in locating the angels before reaching maturity? Sandalphon is literally the only one ever shown like that. Seeing how dangerous and important the angels are "oh yes, we know there a bunch of naked dudes / eggs ...

Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

I still think its not meant to be literal, because, well, think about it. Its already a mystery how angels exactly appear (they are just there), but now ive got to believe they first spawned as a human(oid) and then change intro a weird abstract form (like Leliel or Ramiel)? They all first spawn lik...

Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

No i'm not, i know the difference between lillin and angels. But when they are both called humans, i dont think they mean their actual form (arms, legs, all that). Less literal. I'm not convinced that all angels start out as a humanoid and then change however they see fit. I always thought it as a m...

Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

I never thought Sandalphon was an actual human (just because he looks like a human embryo, same with adam in his devolved form doesnt mean its actually human), if he was, he could not have survived those conditions. Which is kinda my point. Its not like they get born from a human as a baby and then ...

Re: Was Lilin Evolution Artificially Guided?

Angels are just very similar (dna and all) to human(oids) but they embraced the fruit of life, not wisdom, thus shedding their "human side" as it were.

This doesn't mean they were born like human(oid) entities and then changed forms as we see in the series.

Re: Do the Evas go into Awakening in the original series?

I think there's a difference between being awake (the opposite of sleeping) like you are implying here and an eva awakening (opening up to its full potential) like in eoe or more distinctive in nte.

Re: Do people still hate Evangelion 3.33?

Hmm, thanks Settie, that was really insightful. 3.33 always bugged me about how Shinji is being treated, it doesn't seem fair despite everything we know / see. But the way you explained it, it makes perfect sense. Wille (and thus Misato) might even have used Shinji as a scapegoat, wether it was all ...

Re: Why was Shinji strangling Asuka at the end of EoE?

I'll have to agree with pwhodges here. CT, you seem to have a very negative opinion about Asuka's character, as is your right to have an opinion, but I really don't believe that "most people" would agree with your statements. I saw Asuka as someone would puts up a mask to hide her emotions...

@TheCarkolum If you just call something "good" without explanation, or "dumb" without explanation ... then those are non-debatable points. You didn't come here to discuss your opinion / ideas. You just came to tell us what your opinion is, even though it means nothing to any of u...

Re: The game of Shogi: a view on characters and plot in Rebuild

Unless they would have just explained it beforehand, like Rei is really gone, but there are others, they are in control of Nerv which is now the badguy. And presto, Shinji would think twice letting Mark9 take him. I really don't buy that Gendo would assume (the whole plan hinges on this) that Wille ...

Re: The game of Shogi: a view on characters and plot in Rebuild

Exactly, but how (would he really scheme this big apocalyptic masterplan purely on an assumption?)? If there was just a hint of Gendo's influence at Wille (maybe there is, but we havent spotted it yet) then I could believe that. But just to say "they acted like i thought they would" to jus...
