possibly, but probably not until Rei betrayed him. I don't think Rei "betrayed" him. You could say she found "destiny" persay, because she finally realized who she really was(lilth) and was doing the right thing by not letting Gendo have any part in 3I. Rather leave ...

A gun boat? With two turrets the superstructure and bow? Not likely. The ship that Unit-02 picks up has a light deck and would be too big to be a gunboat to have one of those AND two turrets. If anything, she was a heavily modified Allen M. Sumner (DD-692)-class Destroyer picked up for cheap...

Then WHY is it that during the “nude interrogation scene” in front of the SEELE monoliths does she have such a look of absolute shock and loss, a look we do not see until EoE in the moment right before she says liar, on her face? I imagine she would have initially thought that she had been kidn...

That she was a substitute for Rei. Based on the look on his face, I had felt that, possibly in his arrogance, the Old Men wouldn’t think of using that little tidbit of info against him. I don't think this is correct. If we look at the dialogue here IKARI: Why did you destroy the dummy system?...

When Gendo realizes that Ritsuko figured it out, and destroyed the dummy plugs as a result, he has the shocked look on his face in the cell because he has lost the only one still alive that he ever truly loved as a part of his life, even if he didn’t love her as much as Yui. What exactly do you m...

Keep up the good work. I love it so far, especially what you do with Misato. What you did with Kaji is a bit odd though.

@ OMF I like where you went with this and I can’t argue with your logic. However, here’s another idea for everyone to chew on; Yui, just for a moment was Unit-01’s “copilot” and caused the Eva, either in fact or in the form of mental imagery or “projection”, to chomp down on Gendo as r...

This is the problem I have with the “I truly loved you” option. See, to me, it only makes sense in the context of OMF’s analysis of WHY Gendo sent Ritsuko. When Gendo realizes that Ritsuko figured it out, and destroyed the dummy plugs as a result, he has the shocked look on his face in the cel...

In Japanese cinema, the idea of being on a train and being surrounded by people but being totally alone at the same time was first used in the early sixties and as I understand it, pops up from time to time. If you look at the part where Shinji is on a just listening to his SDAT while life goes on a...

Frankly, I have a hard time buying the whole Kyoko-is-still-nuts-and-wants-to-kill-Asuka thing. I am with you on the one. I had always took the “Die with me” part to be sort of a traumatic flashback from seeing her Mama degrade right up to her death. This “jumpstarts” Kyoko’s maternal and...

The United Nations and the public in general clamps down on NERV. However, strings are pulled and the Eva project continues as it is (but with expansions closely monitored), and several pardons are made because without the Evas Earth is still screwed. However, unless the U.N. is canny enoug...

Probably pretty obvious with my posts, but I'm with option # 2. :D If I had to pick a choice, I'd have to pick option #1. Male and female genitals are very hard to mistake. As for Shinji, if Tabris was in the men's bath with him and he turned out to be a she, don't you think that he...

I take this as being Lilith giving a sort of nod of approval to Yui for her final mission. At first I tought this was Lilith "kicking" Yui out of Unit-01's core and hijacking the Eva for herself. Others on this board have since set me right.

The change I would make is offering more resolution at the end of the series. Possibly a "one year later" epilogue after 3I. That will PO some hardcore fanboys will will undoubtedly dissagree with the movie writers' interperetation of EoE, but for the sake of the film and it's cha...
