Being pregnant can be a very emotional time, lots of biological magic churning in there. So that could influence a performance, in the same way that any big life event can influence a performance. Also, I hope she doesn't name her child Asuka or something because that's kind of like saying &...

I know when that pejorative is used, and it has nothing to do with insulting woman for enjoying sex. That is precisely one of the reasons it is used, but I guess I'll need you to mansplain to me why women are called sluts. Please share your definition with the class. He isn't doing it to fo...

Okay, I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt because English might not be your first language. (Your location says "Croatia".) So you might not know how derogatory "slut" can be. Yes, originally "slut" applied only to women, but in the 21st century E...

I was hoping Mari's voice actor, as the new addition to the team, would actually be a professional voice actor or screen actor or theatre actor, as opposed to a professional Funimation actor. But from that one Amazon video she sounds just as inhuman as the rest of the cast. The only reason Spenc...

Allemann, I don't think many of us feel the show itself is sexist, but what of fan interpretation? You called Misato a "slut" a bunch of times in this thread . Does Kaji or Gendo qualify as a "slut"? A bit of Googling shows that "slut" appears in these forums most o...

Hehe, is this the thread where everyone decides which little girl they want to be? I'm really digging this thread, though. It's cute.

If we're talking about sexist interpretations then we should consider how often Misato and Asuka are described as "sluts" compared to Kaji and Gendo.

supershinjiasukashipper reminds me of the dog from Gantz . Cute~! Most people say I'm like Kyon or Chiaki from Nodame Cantabile. That is too adorable. You definitely get just as flustered! Especially when we talk about my feet. ^_^ oOoOoOo always reminds me of Yuyuko from Touhou. I have no idea...

If I was Shinji I'd probably be a little cross with my mom, although less so than with my dad. At least she had some epic space magic reason to be absent all the time. Dad... he was just in the next town over. ;_;

That review seems more spot on. But I guess he understood 1.0 because less was going on. Or maybe the 2.0 review was talking about how you might feel about the film if you hadn't seen the first Rebuild.

The New York Times is funny. It reminds me of the reviews of "Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within" that claimed the plot was bad because it was adapted from the videogames themselves. "This is gibberish! It makes no sense unless you've played all seventeen games!" Well, it make...

I'm going to blame this all on Rose of Versailles, which made the Japanese think the French were sooooo cool. Look at all the visual kei gothy bands with their French names. You know the ones! In many cases what I like so much is the use of colour. While the frills and all that is real complicat...

I've watched my Hong Kong DVD a bunch of times now so I don't feel too bad that I won't be able to go to my local showing. (Uuuurrk, life and its annoying schedules!) But my showing (I'm in Canada) was really popular last time. It was quite a nice "fan experience...

I'm considering "Mass Effect 2" for the PS3 (thanks to some suggestions in a thread I made a bajillion years ago) because it allegedly has no grinding and a lot of character interactions. Swooooon~ Also, I need to get a PSP because Zappy-kun (hahahaha Japanese honourifics!!...

Now I'm kind of glad this project is unrelated. They can work with the same general ideas and atmosphere and just do their own thing. We don't need everything to be canonically linked. This gives room for creative growth. Or they could make a film based on the Aliens novel where the composer...
