It might have worked as live action, maybe as a Twilight Zone episode. As it was, neither the animation or the acting captured me at all.

Perhaps I imagined that everyone religion has similar levels of similarly convincing claims (I haven't found many non-Catholic or non-Orthodox miracle claims, and few of even those worth any consideration whatsoever, though this may of course be due to cultural tendencies and my obvious Eng...

I definitely have to say that the particulars of your crisis of faith are different from most. Serious research into miracles is usually only done by people who are already in the seminary (though I often wonder how many "miracles" they study on average before they finally find one tha...

That was my first camera! But it's been 15 years since I used it (too lazy to do anything but digital these days).

My guess is that the artist was trying to make a statement about something. But here, without context, the implied humor is offensive.

Edit: It's a shop, here's the context (warning: unpleasant and unfunny images)

Hopefully someone who saw the first two movies can answer this little continuity question for me... At the end of the series, Homura no longer had her shield, which seems to indicate that the once the "law of the cycle" had erased Madoka as a person, Homura's meguca wish also changed &...

When I checked my checked my kanji dictionary, I found out that I completely botched a line. "You're cruel, brother" should be "You'll have to endure it, brother" or somesuch. And I did botch part of the punchline Sakura: Exclusively, you mean? should be Sakura: Senpai, a...

Yeah, I just finished watching it an hour ago. It was thoroughly enjoyable. In fact I liked it more than the series. The attention to detail, the music, and the overall mood were just incredible. My favorite scene was the cake song, because of the crazy juxtaposition of playful joy and the danger of...

Kyoto. Has anyone visited the thousand year old temples, shrines, and palaces of Kyoto? I was only there for a day and a half, but I went to Mt. Kurama (the home of the mythical Tengu king) which was great because the path up the mountain had at least a dozen temples and shrines from variou...

Ritsuko hated Naoko for the same reason that Naoko hated Yui. Jealousy. That, and Ritsuko recognized the trait that made her hate herself (human frailty of the feminine sort) in her mother.

Finished Please Save My Earth this morning. It was excellent, much better than its (rather uninspired) name suggests. Honestly it took me a while to get past the cover art, but the story and characterization are top notch. And the whole thing has a very 1980's feel that I love, meaning t...

Wow. Thank you. That script gives the film a completely different flavour, compared to just seeing the visuals.

I love the ending, Genesis in reverse. (Yes, I know that Reichu had already translated that part, but having the whole script gives the ending much more weight.)

The subterranean portions of old Nerv HQ seem to have undergone some sort of Macross-like transformation and rearrangement to form the new Nerv inverted pyramid. That's the only explanation that I can think of. Some parts of the inner walls of old Nerv have become the outer walls of new Nerv. Ma...

The idea that it would be a repaint of unit 08 is nothing new. Unit 02 was nearly totally destroyed and is missing both arms, legs and lower torso so it's logical these parts don't belong to her. It's logical that only the head was usable, so I wonder what Khara is trying to achieve wit...
