TO tally different topic, if you really want to go there. I guess whether or not it is a different topic is a topic in itself, depending on how much one believes it's related to Eva biology. Like how Rei's soulless clones had some basic level of stimulus response. But this is not the place,...

Well, she could have used her prog knife as a utensil and attempted something resembling table manners anyway... Yui's behavior stands as a testament to why people should not be decked out in high-tech bondage gear and forced to spend almost all of their time in giant refrigerators being utterl...

They're modified clones which were grown, so I'd say the people in charge were more of the attitude of, don't remove it unless it's a problem.

Or maybe they did remove them, but they kept regenerating back so they gave up.

Edit: Sachi beat me to it.

But something interesting to think about here too: there was no tanging of anything normally in the world, including organisms whose component parts must have been recycled from previous living organisms, plants and animals alike. I'm tempted to mention my heresy from the other topic on AT Fiel...

Phew, there's a lot of posts that were made here in just the past day. I'll read through all the new ones later, but for now, after a brief skim, this caught my eye: This is actually a major topic I raised MUCH earlier in this thread. The general consensus is that the Platinum subs are much ...

I've totally lost track of this argument. Let's just see a showing of hands, eh? 1 - Who believes that a soul is required to maintain an ATF? 2 - Who believes that souls create ATFs but can then leave it on indefinitely? 3 - Who believes something totally different? 4 - Who is willing to ju...

We don't even know for sure if Rei is made of PWM, I believe there's a shot of a scanner that picks up Rei the same way as it picks up PWM, but don't quote me on that. and if she's not, her clone bodies can probably be sustrained by the LCL they're floating in. But they were des...

I love that bit btw. Shinji really looks like he has gone bonkers there I bet 2.0 ends where Ep 19 ends I mean, what would be better cliffhanger ending? I dunno, I mean, things like that work a bit different for a movie. There are only going to be three inter-'episode' junctions this time. ...

He made that face in the original show. It's from when he's pounding on Zeruel before his battery runs out.

When Ritsuko destroys the clones, her PDA says "destrudo release". What is that if not something related to the breaking down of ATFs?

That was my way of saying I know, I just was trying to be funny. I don't recall any implication of her touching the pills, no. Hopefully Reichu will pop in at some point and post that image from Groundwork so we can figure out that OR just what Rei was on. In ep17, when Shinji and Touji ...

It was. The AATF never stopped until Rei stopped it when Shinji wanted everyone to have their individuality back. Once the merging of souls is complete the AATF wouldn't be needed anymore because everyone would be gone. But everyone didn't immediately pop back into existence once the AATF s...

Even assuming this theory is correct in saying that an AT Field can continue existence without a soul once set up, the Evangelion Units are entities that had no initial soul WHATSOEVER, but have a definitive shape, which in your theory means AT Field, but since there was no soul presence, there sho...

It's the matter. It's the only common factor between them. I know. We agree that PWM is what enables voodoo. Where we differ primarily is on the properties and components of exactly what PWM is. It's not a theory, it's fact. Those beings never had an ATF to shape them until soul-sal...

You said according to your theory souls don't linger after death. I say this is wrong cause Rei wasn't paying these bodies a vist for no reason. Huh? I apologize if I ever seemed to, but no. I'm perfectly aware that a soul hangs around after death. Ok look, this has nothing to do with w...

No you don't cause Rei went to their dead bodies to collect something and the only thing she was collecting was souls. This doesn't contradict anything I've said. Yes it does. RITSUKO: Correct. We do know the Angel is composed of a type of matter characterized by both particulate and wa...

So why don't people tang immediately upon death? Cause their souls are still in their bodies hence why Rei went to collect them from the dead people in NERV HQ or Anno didn't think it through. Take your pick but I think it's a combo of the 2. By all rights a severed limb should tang ins...

So why don't people tang immediately upon death? Guess I chose a wrong time to get poetic. I mean "life" as in "the essence of life", not necessarily being alive. The substrate that holds organic matter into a configuration that makes life even possible. My macromei knows no...

Strangulation for no reason? That sounds in line. I've never read the manga, but everything I've been told and shown about it has given me the impression that Sadamoto was somehow out to 'one-up' the original by erring on the side of the pointlessly hardcore. (Manga spoilers)...
