Until recently I'd never really heard of Thor (most of my marvel knowledge comes from their 90's animated shows). But I'm really interested in this movie, partially due to the fact that Kenneth Branagh is directing it, and Ken Branagh directing a super-hero movie has to be one of...

I remember there being issues with some of the eva roars being recorded on the Japanese vocal track instead of the sound effects/music track. So that when it was dubbed into English they couldn't use a few of the 'roaring' sound effects. Although this wouldn't account for a roar bein...

@ master_lloyd I agree with just about everything you said. Although I generally tend to look at a movie as a marriage of visuals and "movie", so I generally don't try to separate them. Thanks man, I was worried I'd get booted out the thread for not mentioning Freud in my post! ^_...

As a spectacle Inception was excellent, visuals were great, and the special effects were mind-blowing. Personally, I think good special effects should be like good magic tricks, where you see them and think "How did they do that?!", the zero-G hotel bits were perfect examples of that. As a...

I loved it, particularly R2. It was so gloriously camp and OTT.

BTW, there's already a few Geass threads bobbing about.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ToztqqDcaY New trailer for 'The Old Republic' MMORPG. Is there an unwritten rule somewhere that states "All Sith Lord must be part robot or deformed in some way"? Apart from Dooku (whose gimmick was "I am old and I used to be friggin' Dracula) are there...

OH GOD, THE MUSTACHE. i honestly didn't know whether to laugh or cry. i chose to laugh, i was never that big a fan of mustang anyway. haha. i'm not sure i liked havoc's ending, though. i mean, i love that mustang thought of him before he got cured himself, and i love that he was back to...

It was a very happy ending, which is all you could ever want for the Elric Brothers. D'aww. Cute-sy happy end montages are how all series should end.

Also I liked Mustang's tiny little mustache on one of the end photos, it was very dashing...

I found it hilarious, too. xD Probably because they weren't wearing seat belts, yet still came out without a scratch. Kinda silly in that respect, though it would be detrimental to the plot if the two were injured. One thing is certain, those Renault's are tough little bastards. They laugh ...

Re: Was Keel's body regrown like an Eva's?

I don't think an operation of that sort ever happened. An entirely different procedure occurred. Here's what probably happened: Sometime after Second Impact, Keel Lorenz was either dying or he actually died. Whatever caused this, most of his body was destroyed. He was too important to Seele...

The whole 'Rider-kick' sequence is no more stupid than some of the things we've seen in the series. 'Dance like you want to win' anyone?
I just think they were trying to keep a lighter mood early on in the film, before shit got real.

The ending was a bit anticlimactic and involved even more hand-waving than usual Agreed, it seemed like there was a constant stream of exposition just to explain why the main characters were seemingly the only people left in existence. The reset button device was used (again) but it didn...

I just bought MSG3: Snake Eater. With a long summer ahead of me, and not enough money for an Xbox or PS3, I thought it'd be a good idea to buy a new PS2 game. I know almost nothing about the MSG franchise, so if nothing else it'll be a new experience.

The Sixth Doctor didn't like firearms, either. Neither did the Seventh. Well if he didn't like them before I doubt being shot helped much... This series hasn't really had a bad episode, I mean 'the Lodger', 'Victory of the Daleks', and 'Vampires in Venice' were a...
