And his confidence shows. He declares himself(43) and his desire to be himself(44) amid more shattering(45). http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/../images/497B4RTUBJPTQQRN6RSDTGRUQ-hoperestored81tg.jpg And now he declares his desire to live life, to be alive(46)...

And now the finale. How appropriate that it is Gendou who says these words.(25) The very person most responsible for Shinji's lack of human love. I wonder is his statement here along the same lines of sentiment as his words to Yui in #26'? Misato here, making a comment on Shinji'...

Just to let you know, I have watched the final scene. It's quite a show, and I'll be posting all my thoughts on it soon. 'Till then, enjoy the screenies! For a given value of "soon". In my defence, my computer and the necessary files were in transit during the interum, and the...

The penultimate post. I hope this has been entertaining so far. Now onto the scene I keep hearing about, but had never expierienced before today. The Neon Genesis Evangelion Alternate Reality Sequence. Most sci-fi shows do something like this every now and again, so I suppose it was Evangelions time...

Onward we go! Once again, I'll post whatever catches my eye out of the collage of images flashed past here. Shinji(1), Rei(2) and Asuka(3) moods are all summed up here by images of nature. Nice touch. I wonder if one should apply this to the times of day literally during ...

Ok I've finally had time to get around to episode #26 and boy, whew. I mean, where do I start. I guess I'll just pick out anything that catches my eye amind the myriad of images and dialouge that flash by. Well here's the first one(1). I wonder were they alluding to the lack of f...

Ano... You didn't catch onto the fact that there were immense gaps in the story? It did seem a little patchy. Asuka appearing out of nowhere for example. However, it did all make sense to me in a wierd way. Considering the last episode I watched was #19, I was pretty much hooked anyway. Seems l...

The Post 3I world is filled with fan-fics!! None of which are terribly satisfying. The pervading feeling is one of anticipation of the sequels, none of which are forthcoming.

At last I'm through #25. Interesting section here. Instrumentality finally laid bare. Very interesting dialouge from Shinji (1), Misato(2) and Asuka(3) here. Misato and Asuka's lines are the very words Shinji cries so desperately to Asuka in EoE. I wonder what the lin...

Well, after a longer than planned delay, I'll continue my belated "As it happens" reporting on my first viewing of episodes 25 and 26. Rest assured, I still haven't so much as glanced at 26 yet. Onward. Asuka is up next. The same interrogation type setting again here.(1) Li...

Woah! I knew Misato has issues, but I must admit to being completely unprepared for her case(1). There are issues here that Prozac just won't fix. Why is this CASE 1, I wonder? Anyhow, on with the show. Once again, I think we're seeing the interrogation theme here(2), but thi...

I live to give! http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/../images/-grin.gif Bit of a short section here. Instrumentality beginning. http://www.evageeks.org/ANF-Archive/images/../images/VI891K3F3STHJBUTUI577RP7J-instrumentalitybeginning9oi.jpg Shinji's fading out here would certainly point his...

Fit to burst!! The case of Rei is by far the most enlightning of the three(1). In ways I cannot yet articulate, this sequence has made me look on Rei and her actions in a completely different light. Rei posing a fundamental question of existence(2). Both other Rei's are present h...

Ladies and gentlemen.... My hands are shaking as I type these words. I am almost afraid to see the evidence of my own mounting insanity writ bare before me. Truely, I am in shock, and since I have nothing else planned for this afternoon, I'm going to share something with you all.... But first, a...

There was no point of revelation, no "Aha!" moment, shown, so no clear moment to draw the curtain to match EoTV. Nor, in the finale, any indication that the Shinji who returned was any the better for his experiences and the revelatory insights they offered him. I'd argue that Shinji&#...

Just on the matter of Shinji's choice about complementation in the TV ending. I'll repeat what I said in the Eva TV Ending Journal Or Something thread (which I shamelessly plug here!) I've heard a lot of debate as to whether Shinji has made a choice to accept of reject complement...

Gendou confiding such intimacies in a random confidant is hardly consistent with his rather reticent character. It's more likely he stated the words directly to Rei, as she was in effect, this trusted confidant to which we are referring.

How was Naoko too "overqualified"? I doubt she would have been contented to twiddle her thumbs for the next seven years keeping MAGI ticking over. The only time her skills would ever have really been needed, was during episodes #13 and #25' and possibly episode #20. Other than that Ri...

Okay what do you think Naoko's place was in Gendo's great plan? A tool for every task, and a task for every tool. Naoko's genius was essential in creating the MAGI, which were indispensible to Gendou's plan. Once they were created however, Naoko's usefulness as an architect was ...
